Hogan's Injured Buddy Just Back From Iraq

John Graziano, Nick HoganThe Nick Hogan car crash gravely injured a US Marine who served two tours of duty in Iraq, returning just last October.

The St. Petersburg Times reported today that John Graziano, Nick's friend and passenger, joined the corps after graduating in 2003, serving twice in Iraq. The marine is still in "very serious condition," and his health status "hasn't changed since he arrived" at the hospital early Sunday morning. One of the men who found Graziano at the scene was the brother of one of Graziano's best friends.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ -- God forbid -- worst case scenario, Nick Hogan could face charges of gross vehicular manslaughter, if there's proof that alcohol, excessive speeding or drag racing were involved. The maximum sentence is 15 years in prison.

Witnesses told the Times that they saw Hogan's Toyota racing a Dodge Viper just before the crash.

46. I guess mommy and daddy are going to try to spin this to make it look like their son was not racing and innocent in all of this. Well I wonder if by doing this they understand that they are putting his life in danger? Next time he does this he could lose his life and then they will cry and say we didn't know.

47. ""8. This was an Accident. Im sure that nobody intended for anyone to get hurt. Since everyone that is posting here is a SAINT, let me be the first one to say, these things do happen and its horrible. Just pray that John comes out of this with nothing but a bad memory and Nick learns that that kind of drving is for the track.

God Bless and My prayers for John, His family and the Hogans!!""

No Justin,

These things do NOT "just happen."

A VERY immature person DECIDED to MAKE A CHOICE, and depress the accelerator , and drag race.

This didn't "just happen."

Someone made it happen, b/c that person is not adult enough to be responsible.

Grow up! Make wise choices! Do not break the law!

get a grip...this person needs to have his license revoked, that or, the same thing done to him.

50. Prayer is a powerful thing. Lets all be praying for John Graziano. Be positive towards him and towards the Hogan family also. They are good people and would never knowingly hurt anyone. Pray for Nick, He is very young and very foolish but he has been taught to be a decent human being and will most likely grow up and be one. This terrible tragedy is a life learnig event and it will change all their lives. Don't wish more harm to them. Be very careful when judging others as your Creator judges you in just the way you judge others. You never know when you might be in an accident or make a mistake and have people mad at you. Be kind, be loving and pray for John Graziano's healing.

51. I am thankful for John serving our country but he has known Nick for several years. Don'tyou think he knew about Nick's driving record? It is a horrible thing and Nick should take his punishment. John I am sure got in the car with him on his own, no one made him.. . Nick was the driver but I think John should have smarter than to get in the car with someone that had such a terrible driving record. I am also sure that wasn't the first time he had ridden with him.He had to be aware of his crazy driving. This is something terrible and i am sure all families are hurting,I pray for John's recovery but i also pray for all the families involved...

54. This gets my goat!...Fame, money, and fortune...Why do the majority of people with high standings;go places and do things that will in a flash turn your life upside down? Have the rich and famous (newfound included)ever herd of the phrase "For every action;there's an reaction.I am a recovering alcoholic- some of yall rich folk should let me be your or someone in your family's' sponsor. It's alright to kick your shoes off...but don't kick them so high that go who knows which way....and believe you me , what goes up definitely comes down....one will hit you in the head, and the other one will make you wish you had vaseline. Plus, someone else, whom you don't know-will finish it for you!

55. If "Hogan Knew Best" he would have known not to give a new driver a missile on wheels. Nothing good can come from a 17 year old teenage male having a car that can go above 100MPH.

56. Pretty stupid, considering he can afford to BUY a track to race on! Or at least rent one... :^E

57. Allie- Just because John seeked adrenaline rushes and doesn't make any of this his fault. To give your teenager a car that accelerates that quickly, makes no damn sense at all! Nick needs his license suspended and his parents need sued.
I think Hulk has been paying too much attention to how much skin Brooke is showing and not enough attention to his son, who obviously needs some guidance.
I hope that John makes it through his injuries and comes back well. As for Nick, something needs to happen to make him THINK! He's definitely not now...

58. I can't believe you people who are blaming the victim......again! Such BS. Nobody ever thinks they are going to get into a car crash when they're racing; drinking and driving...whatever. That doesn't make it THE VICTIM'S fault! he was no driving. He has no responsibility in this (other than to hopefully recover fully and quickly). The blame goes on Nick. He was at the wheel. Period.

59. Well... Look Nick needs to learn a lesson, his dad is hard on him but not hard enough. Brooke is next in line on this one, she is spoiled rotten!!!! SHES ONLY WHAT 17?? for christ sake get that girl some clothes. GOING back to Nick though... You know his friend has been back from Iraq for almost a year, They dont need to turn this into a veteran of war matter because its been a year. he isnt here on leave or anything like that HE CAME HOME back in LAST OCTOBER... HELLO OCTOBER is next month look at that 1 year. So the charges should be minor, because 1 they will have to observe who hit who. was his friend wearing his seatbeat and so on.... They have only Hired an Attorney in case matters get worse. but I DONT think he will face vehicler Manslater.....

Just my thoughts...

60. Oh yeah and if you guys read any of the articles John was described as someone who seeked adrenaline rushes, you really think that John was so innocent and was like " Nick please dont..." He was doing with Nick and its terrible that he got hurt but why is it all Nicks fault?

Posted at 4:35PM on Aug 29th 2007 by allie
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gee, I don't know. Maybe because he was the idiot behind the wheel. I am sure that even if John was egging him on, I would assume that Nick has the ability to say no and be responsible enough to drive properly and safely, regardless of what the passenger wants him to do, so yes, that is why it is HIS FAULT. No one held a gun to his head.
