It seems impossible to be a hot, young female in Hollywood these days without trying one's hand at pop music -- are you ready for Nicole Richie, the birth of a singer? *tiny holla*

Baby bump-boasting Nicole -- wearing hat/sunglasses/black everything from what appears to be baby daddy Joel's wardrobe -- attended vocal lessons yesterday, amid years (and fear) of rumors that she has an album in the making. Who doesn't? Lately, pop music is known to prefer image over talent -- as witnessed by albums from Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and Jessica Simpson. At least Nicole has some musical background; daddy Lionel's 100+ million album sales! Ride them coattails!

Add Nicole's newfound street cred from her life-altering 82 minutes in jail -- and there may be a new pop diva in the making! Or not.

10. finally tmz says something i agree with....the music industry nowadays prefers image over talent. ain't that the truth. i long for the days of past when true artists cared about making good music rather than these pre packaged, hair weave wearing nobodies. you don't need to have a good voice to make a record these days. it's all about production and making money with these people.

11. Wow, she looks great. She is setting a good example to people out there. She has had problems,been in trouble.But she has changed a great deal and shows that everyone is human and we all make mistakes. All of us. But she appears to be working hard at taking care of things.Money does not always make people happy.Way to go,Nicole.Be who you are /accept who you are.

12. Don't you have to know how to read in order to sing???? If she can't read road directions on a freeway, how the hell is she going to be able to read a lyric sheet? Quick....someone send her a "Hooked on Phonics" video.

15. If NICOLE wants to put out an album, who is to say that she can't do that? This is a free country isn't it? For all we know, the girl probably got a little something going on in regards to her vocal talent. BUT, I don't think this is the right time to start popping out babies. I mean, look at BRITTANY SPEARS. Its going to be hard trying to be a sexy pop artist and a good mother at the same time. She should be realistic.
