Aileen: normally I would agree with you but in this case, imagine trying to smile and walk while flashes of light are going off in your eyes, people yelling, pushing and not moving out of your way. I don't know how coordinated you are, but I would fall on my butt. I don't think she is shielding herself from getting her pic taken. I think she is sheilding her eyes so she doesn't trip and have that pic posted on every publication.

19. To Aileen in Canada, Yes, anyone can stop and smile for a camera, stopping and staring into hundreds of cameras flashing repeatedly would be like staring into a strobe light. At the very least, you will get a headache and at the very worst, you might suffer a seizure. It's too much.

20. Kate : I'm more in agreement with Curious of Conneticut. I hear you but really, why oh why would any "private person" put themselves through that. No one asked her to go to such a public venue to put food in her stomach. Is she that desperate for "privacy" Me, I'll just get back to my ordinary life, the one where I've got ridiculous amounts of free time to bother myself with Hollywood stars. 23. I am on the mindset of others in this post. This comes with being on the celebrity turf. You want private, being a Hollywood Movie Star doesn't sound like wanting private to me.

Guess celebs can't have their cake and eat it too. Well, actually, I guess they can. But if they're out in a public restaurant getting it then they'll be getting photographed too. Nature of the business, people.

30. Whoever said that she should just smile and then they will get tired of taking the same picture over and over again-dream on! Carolyn Bessette Kennedy wore the same freakin' outfit every day, and it didn't get rid of them. They snapped thousands of photos of her in a white t-shirt and never seemed to tire of it. The idiot photographers are just waiting for Reese to trip and fall so they can photograph it. Jerks.
