TMZ has learned the "Today" show has pulled the plug on the Rita Cosby interview about her book in which she claims Howard K. Stern and Larry Birkhead had a "relationship."
The cancellation comes after "Today" received a bristling, threatening letter from attorney Lin Wood, Howard's lawyer. Wood, who represented John and Patsy Ramsey, made it clear he would sue the "Today" show for any falsehoods that spewed out of Rita's mouth. Birkhead has also vowed to sue Cosby and others who he claims are in on a plot to "smear" him.
As far as we know, Cosby's assertion of a relationship is rooted in the testimony of Jackie Hatten, a known wacko whose brother served prison time for stalking Anna Nicole.
Make no mistake about it -- this cancellation is a big, frickin' deal.

I work in a very large national corporation with a HUGE employee base, and all I heard today was how "everyone" was chomping at the bit to buy the book. No one is telling YOU to waste you welfare check on it, - but, from what I've seen, it's destined to be a best-seller, for sure. She got paid to go on shows and trash ANS.thats a freind?Same thing I just can't understand how VA could have anything to do with the Hattens after he tried to kill her Daughter and there is proof of that he was convicted and went to prison.This would not have happened if he had not pulled a knife on her.AS for his web site what do you think he will say especially after talking to VA.I could say the same thing,who checks out websites no one is my guess

439. I hope Larry and Howard go after Rita. Is she trying to slander them to make a case for Vergie? You have to wonder what is behind Rita and her allegations. Howard was executor of the will at the request of ANS. He is the one who helped on the Marshall case before the Supreme Court so why all the hatred for Howard? DNA gave the baby to Larry so why would they need a backroom deal. People should leave Larry and Howard alone, after all it was ANS who was trying to keep Virgie and Larry from the baby. Howard was in the baby's life for six months so I think if Howard and Larry get along it is a good thing for everyone. Rita is trying to make money also from ANS just like she accuses everyone else!!! Freida

444. I always kind of liked Rita when she was on MSNBC. But now, not! Even if she what she wrote about was true (Howard & Larry), why would she tell the whole world---money. 446. I used to be a Rita Cosby fan. I think now she's just trying to make some sort of come-back. I think Larry really loved Anna, he sure seems to love the baby. That kind of love is pretty hard to fake. I just wish the world would leave them alone.

448. Rita Crosby is making desperate attempts to keep HERSELF in the spotlight. If she truly had "the goods" on Larry & Howard, and had the child's best interest at heart (IOW, if she were concerned about the child's welfare, as she claims), she should have, shown *some* integrity by more detailed investigations. She *should* have been able to, with her credentials, obtain said (alleged) tape, and with a small child involved, taken this info to the proper authorities rather than pen a book for her own agenda. I obviously don't personally know Rita, but it certainly seems her main focus is on herself. She has, IMO, lowered her standards because scandal sells. Hell -- look at TMZ! Come on -- Harvey Levin, managing editor of a gossip site, filling in for Larry King?! The line between truthful, relevant commentary is becoming scewed by our seemingly voracious appetite for what our celebrity population is up too at any moment. FROMP WARNING........ I have never been a fan of Rita Crosby. My gut tells me she's playing games & people. Funny, my biggest peeve about her is that voice. I just want to get that abrasive pflegmy voice.
