TMZ has learned the "Today" show has pulled the plug on the Rita Cosby interview about her book in which she claims Howard K. Stern and Larry Birkhead had a "relationship."
The cancellation comes after "Today" received a bristling, threatening letter from attorney Lin Wood, Howard's lawyer. Wood, who represented John and Patsy Ramsey, made it clear he would sue the "Today" show for any falsehoods that spewed out of Rita's mouth. Birkhead has also vowed to sue Cosby and others who he claims are in on a plot to "smear" him.
As far as we know, Cosby's assertion of a relationship is rooted in the testimony of Jackie Hatten, a known wacko whose brother served prison time for stalking Anna Nicole.
Make no mistake about it -- this cancellation is a big, frickin' deal.
76. t's good to see a major Network say no to yet another sleaze merchant trying to profit from the ANS tragedy. Only HKS (ANS's Executor) and LB (Baby Daddy) should earn money since it goes to protect and secure ANS's sole heir, DL.

I believe you're mistaken. What you're accepting as statements having come from Only swim in the Ocean and butterfly, are actually remarks made by Guest_95. I read the comments in that chat forum and do not see where ether Only swim in the Ocean or butterfly ever made the statements attributed to them by Guest_95. He/she has given you his/her interpretation and perception of what those two people said.
Not looking for a fight, just wishing to clarify the inaccuracy of your assumption and Guest_95's interpretation.

I agree. If there is or, at one time, was an intimate relationship between Mr. Birkhead and Mr. Stern, it is no one's business but their own. I remember back when a number of people at this site voiced their approval of a reconciliation between the two, so that Dannielynn could continue to have Howard be part of her life and learn about her mother from the man who knew her the best. I was in favour of that arrangement all along and still believe a relationship involving those two men and the baby will provide a happy, nuturing environment for the little girl. Whether or not the child's "two fathers" are currently closer than friends does not bother me. I believe they both love the child and will continue to work together to protect her best interests.

84. Just because you want it to be the truth does not make it the truth.
The Today show deals in news. Their reputation, is there livelyhood. A Book of this explosive magnatude is big news and big ratings. A vastly bigger take than the lawsuits that would ensue, money is not the bigger issue. What they cannot afford, is a loss to their journalistic integrity. That is the foundation of there business. They also cannot be put in a position that allows them seem to be manipulated by someone for personal gain. Obviously, to pull this segment off the air at the last minute speaks volumes as to the validay of the book. How much is truth? How much is Half truths? How much is blatant exageration?
I can't stand HKS. This whole situation Stinks to high hell. From the moment that Daniel died. I would love to have believed that this book would be the whole truth and not a slanted tale - to help make the author a fortune. But NBC's Stance on this situation changes my attitude.
We should all be glad they pulled the show. Until a time that the facts can be substantiated.

86. Give me a break...no one's opinions will be changed about Howard or Larry by reading this book! It's their actions that are responsible for that!
People have always suspected Howard being in it for the money and using Anna! Now look what's happened! The lies HE told in court and on Larry King Live sealed it and that's a fact!
As for Larry, it's his 'sudden' change in opinion of Howard and his pimping out of that poor baby that did it and that is a fact!
Quit blaming this book that hasn't even been released yet. Talk about jumping to conclusions!!!
