Who Is the Latest Michael Vick Defender??

You'll never guess who the latest person is to jump into the Michael Vick defense fray!!

It's Whoopi!

On her first day as "The View's" moderator, Goldberg made a big splash -- more like a big splat --playing apologist for confessed dogfighting kingpin Michael Vick's canine torturing, explaining that dogfighting was "part of his cultural upbringing."

Much to the obvious dismay of "View"-mates Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Goldberg suggested that Vick might not have known that he was doing a viciously horrific thing with his dogfighting ring. "You know, from his background, this is not an unusual thing for where he comes from," said the redundant Whoopi.

Not content to perpetuate stereotypes about Southerners and dogfighting, Goldberg also likened Vick and his outrage to the Chinese and eating cats. "People would not like it if we ate kitty," she said.

17. Great Whoopi,
We can't blame our parents for our behavior anymore, but we can blame our culture for our bad decisions?!!! Face it, he made some really bad choices, there are consequences!!!

18. Nooo she didnt - I am glad that you were able to see the show for yourself. Many others believe every single thing they read on the entertainment websites. Does anyone realize how much of a stretch a lot of theses stories are. Get up, get out and see for yourself. Stop living through the media.

19. Whoopie is a racist, pure and simple. If a Vick were a white man, she would be on his case bigtime. This isn't a racial issue!!!!! This is a right and wrong, decency issue.

22. Go Whoopi! Rosie wasn't a bad person on the view. She was just outspoken. Whoopi and Rosie are two different people who are intelligent. If the "View" co-hosts can't take the heat, they should get out of the kitchen. Everyone is entitled to their own point of view, even some of you!

23. Anyone, of whatever culture, who puts a living creature through such cruelty is a person to be abhored. The only reason animals should endure pain at the hands of humans, is at slaughter for food (even this is unacceptable to vegetarians, vegans et al)

Shame on you Whoopi

24. Unfortunately, there are more important things in life other than Michael Vick and dog fighting. i.e. young soldiers in Iraq getting killed, Hurricane Katrina Victims, human crime victims. Where's the Damn Humane Society for human beings......let's focus on real meaningful things in life.

25. She has a right to her opinion! Not everyone is obsessed with the notion that Michael Vick is Satan or remotely impressed by the double standards employd. You people make all the excuses in the world for hunting other animals.

29. cultural upbringing? What a stupid excuse. I have been born and raised in the south, with a family who is openly racist and doesn't make any excuses for it. Still I know that it's wrong and I have chosen not to act in the way I was taught. There is NO WAY I can be convinced that Michael Vick didn't know that what he was doing was wrong. He simply thought he wouldn't be caught.
