31. Why should he be a role model for anybody? Just because these people have a job that puts them in the public eye,doesn't automatically make them role models. That's what's wrong with society now, making role models out of people that haven't done anything to deserve it. Furthermore TMZ you put him on the internet smoking a cigarette, maybe you should be more selective about what you show, if you want to call someone a role model. How many of us would have seen him smoking had it not been on this website?

You know the kind that has several cars up on cinder bocks in the driveway?

Amazing they keep throwing jobs and money at these guys.
As far as being a role model..don't look to Hollywood for role models...only cautionary tales.

He does not look like he put on 15 pounds of muscle anywhere.
He will be sucking wind doing all the running that is probably in the Indiana Jones movie..

33. Dear poster #15. My aunt, a registered nurse married to a doctor, never smoked a day in her life. She died of lung cancer at the age of 52. My next door neighbor started smoking when he got his first job. He was 8. He died at 97 years old. If he were here today, should he be miffed because he had to pay the same ridiculous insurance premiums as my aunt did?

Don't blame the smokers, the drinkers, and the obese for your premiums, blame the 10% of this country's population that earn 90% of this country's income. And while you're at it, stick your self righteous holier than thou head up your holier than thou BLEEP. Not all of us are perfect like you. I am a 6'2" 201 pound 42 year old non smoker who drinks about 6 beers a month and I say if the guy is old enough to buy them, then that's his business. Why don't you mind your own.

34. Oh come on TMZ, this is stupid for several reasons.
So what if he smokes! He's an adult and can choose for himself.
Role Model? Stephanie said it best, PARENTS are to be they're childrens role model NOT entertainers, so stop putting them on that pedestal and do your job of discernment and teaching.
I worked with Shia and will say he's probably the most grounded young adult celebrity out there, and far bigger then most that are acting like idiots, so leave it alone unless there's something worthy instead of trying to drudge up something moronic like this. Keep your fun but don't loose your cred in the process.

Don't get me wrong, I'm anti-smoking like everyone else...but how come TMZ doesn't run pictures of other celebrities smoking, like Katherine Heigl, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston and may others who smoke who I can not think of right now? Most celebrities smoke, put ussualy news outlets don't like to purchase those pictures. So don't come down so hard on someone like Shia. At least he's never been to rehab or jail.

37. Gross! I smoked for 15 years & finally quit. There is nothing sexy about a mouth that smells like an ash tray! Hollywood places a huge value on looks, but so many actors SMOKE! actors always want to look young, but smoking ages you & does a real number on your teeth too. Cancer, lung diseases.. smoking is bad. There was even a pic of Rumor Willis puffing away- w/ her youth obsessed mama you know that's a No-NO! This guy isn't a role model- hollywood isn't the place to find them! Everyone has a choice to smoke or not, but it is verry addictive.. I say Quit if you can!!!

38. It's not this actors job to keep kids from smoking- that's what parents are for.. I do feel sorry for an actress that has to do a kissing scene w/ him though! Yellow teeth are not sexy! It's hard to hide it. If you are a smoker & quit you can smell cigarette smoke a mile away! It is on clothes, purses.. even library books!

43. This puts Shia in a new, unflattering light.

I thought he was a talented up-and-coming actor, but he's acting more like Kevin Federline in that picture.

Hopefully, this is just a phase young Shia is going through, and he will realize the errors of his ways before he is diagnosed with emphysema.

Plus, cigarettes smell disgusting.

I believe this picture was "news" on TMZ because it has opened up a dialogue between people about the dangers of tobacco.

44. This guy is ridiculously talented. Anyone with a brain can see that. And big deal, so he has a vice, he smokes....and he eats, piss, sleeps like us. You know he's HUMAN. He himself doesnt claim to be a role model. Besides, he's 21. who's gives a flying... His choice. And what's the big deal, its HIS body.
