Foxy Brown Gets a Year in the Slammer!

Foxy Brown will spend the next year in jail for violating her probation -- and she's going straight back to a cell on Rikers Island, where she's spent the last two weeks.
Breaking News: Foxy Brown
TMZ was in the courtroom when it all went down, and Judge Melissa Jackson slammed Foxy's pleas for mercy, calling her a "great actress," and saying that if this were the first time she'd apologized, she might be believable, but not now. We're told that Foxy was visibly distraught by the verdict, and her mother refused to talk to reporters outside. Foxy originally was sentenced to the probation after an assault on two employees at a nail salon in Manhattan.

Outside the courtroom, cops from New Jersey -- where she allegedly lied to cops about her birthdate and state of residence -- told TMZ that she got what she deserved. Interesting note: if she serves the full term, Foxy will give birth in prison.

Story developing ...

The bad news didn't end there for Foxy (real name: Inga Marchand), as she was also indicted in Kings County for her alleged attack on a Brooklyn woman with a BlackBerry. What's more, she was indicted on charges of battery in connection with an incident at a Florida hair salon in February.

Her lawyer Alan Stutman told TMZ that he thought the punishment was "unfair." TMZ has learned that Foxy will be transported later tonight to a women's facility on Rikers Island where she will serve her sentence, during which she will be eligible for parole in eight months -- if she behaves, that is.

167. Foxy Brown (real name: Inga Marchand) got what she deserved, but she should've gotten a longer sentence! Foxy honey, you need to learn to control that temper and not assult manicurists and assulting a Brooklyn woman with a BlackBerry! Foxy Brown should not be allowed for parole in 8 months, even if she does in fact behave, she should serve the whole Sentence! Take a cue from Naomi Campbell, Foxy! She learned her lesson and had to do pick up trash for 5 days in New York City! Foxy Brown is exactly like Naomi Campbell, but Naomi didn't go to jail for throwing her cellphones!

169. I am sorry... but I don't understand how people don't see this as a harsh, unjust sentence.
I think her behavior is immature, criminal, and deserves punishment but one year for getting into some fights is ridiculous. Yeah her crimes were violent as opposed to passive driving under a suspended license... but did the victims not recover? Was anyone hospitalized as the results of vicious attacks? She acted like a spoiled brat but to my understanding no one was seriosuly hurt. Now Lindsay Lohan driving under the influence at high speeds... please explain how that does not endanger lives?

Also please explain how Naomi Campbell who has repeatedly been charged with ASSAULT and battery has only done community service? Look up her rap sheet in wikipedia. She's been in way more assault cases.

This is ridiculous "justice" at the hands of a judge that wants to make a name for herself

170. She violated her probation for the SAME previous crimes. So, at what point does she get stopped when she can't seem to control her own behavior? Or, are you of the thought that she can do whatever the f**k she wants and should never have to pay for her crimes?
What would be fair to you, on say.... her 20th conviction? At what point would jail be fair in your eyes?

172. #198 AND #199 Look up Naomi Campbell who has ATTACKED several people and also committed assault with several objects. What I meant by getting into fights is that this is not a crime where people were seriously hurt or their lives were in jeopardy. She did not attack people with a bat.

Again look up Naomi Campbell, all she has ever gotten is community service:
- "In 2000, she pleaded guilty in a Toronto court to a 1998 assault on Georgina Galanis, her then assistant; Campbell had assaulted Galanis with a telephone in a hotel room and threatened to throw her out of a moving car."
- "March 2005, the model was said to have slapped assistant Amanda Brack and beaten her around the head with a BlackBerry hand-held personal organiser"
- "On March 30, 2006 in New York City, Campbell was arrested for allegedly assaulting her housekeeper with a jewel-encrusted mobile phone, resulting in a bloody head that required several stitches.[12] She was charged with second degree assault,[12] a felony that carries a minimum sentence of one year and a maximum of seven years in prison"
- "On September 28, 2006, she did not attend a required court appearance in New York City, and the judge ruled that he would order her arrest if she failed to turn up on court the following week, on charges of a second-degree assault on her housekeeper, and could be jailed for up to seven years if convicted."
- "On October 25, 2006, she was arrested in London on suspicion of assault. [2] She has been released on police bail."
- "On November 14, 2006, another former Campbell housekeeper, Gaby Gibson, began a new court case against the supermodel seeking unspecified damages, and accused her ex-employer of being a "violent super-bigot".[15]"
- "n January 16, 2007, Campbell pleaded guilty to a charge of reckless assault against her maid Ana Scolavino. She was sentenced to five days community service and ordered to attend two days of an anger management course. In addition, she was ordered to pay medical bills of $363 (£185) to Mrs Scolavino who needed four stitches after the incident.[17] According to a report on CNN, Campbell blames "her temper on lingering resentment toward her father for abandoning her as a child".[18] On 19 March 2007, Campbell began mopping floors at New York's Sanitation Department for her service.[19]"

173. I think this is wrong she should have an easier sentence intill everyone is treaed the same. Yes NY is differ than Cali. Still she is preggers. Who wants that for this baby even thou the baby is still not born it will effect it. Other celebs get treated better. I am not justifying her actions. What would be a good punishment, i really dont know but there has to be a better situation. How can someone deny the "race card"? I myself hate it when it comes up unnecessarily however I do think it should be taken into account. Where is the news reports on this?
It really is just a sad thing. That poor baby.

174. well all I have to add is IF foxy is doing drugs and is preggers...Than this is a GOOD thing...she can sober up and just maybe learn a hard lesson..ITS NOT ALL ABOUT HER!!

There are no comparrisons in the Paris & Foxy thing...Paris was on probation for Something diff.
Foxy HIT a number of ppl and didnt really care...Then she LIED to a cop about who she was and her address and Birthdate...YOU DONT LIE TO COPS!!!..I bet if she had been hnest..she wouldnt be were she is Now..So dont Play the race card..cause its Not in the deck....She lied, she was on probation, shewas suspended from driving..AND...Then she goes and does it all again..IMO..she had WAY too many chances all reday....MG, whats its gonna take to convince you all..IOts about how you live..Not what you LOOK Like HERE!!

175. That judge may have saved her life, everything happens for a reason & it doesn't look like it would have been very safe for her unborn baby to be out and about at the mercy of whatever girls out there that "still" want a piece of her a** for things she has said/done. A year will be enough time for her to calm down, check herself & get ready for motherhood. (possibly a new career with all the press she is getting)

176. Well if she is doing drugs then the baby will be safer. The truth is maybe the govt. should have a different place to bring pregnant women who are convicted if there is not one already. It does not sound like there is one in NY. Maybe that will come into light after all? She should be punished I agree. I just don't know what is the best thing with her being pregnant.
Anyone else would have the book thrown at them early on when it comes to celeb's, just shocked it did not work for her. Why not? hmm....

177. Who does she think she is to attack people? She got what she deserved!

Posted at 1:58PM on Sep 8th 2007 by luckysusy

178. Simply put, a year in jail will save her life. She's obviously never had to take serious responsibility for what she's done, and continues to act like a spoiled, petulant child. God knows what she'll do next, or who she'll hurt (maybe even herself or her unborn kid). A year in the slammer will make her grow up, and will also save the life of her unborn child. For her, it's a good thing...
