Foxy Brown Gets a Year in the Slammer!

Foxy Brown will spend the next year in jail for violating her probation -- and she's going straight back to a cell on Rikers Island, where she's spent the last two weeks.
Breaking News: Foxy Brown
TMZ was in the courtroom when it all went down, and Judge Melissa Jackson slammed Foxy's pleas for mercy, calling her a "great actress," and saying that if this were the first time she'd apologized, she might be believable, but not now. We're told that Foxy was visibly distraught by the verdict, and her mother refused to talk to reporters outside. Foxy originally was sentenced to the probation after an assault on two employees at a nail salon in Manhattan.

Outside the courtroom, cops from New Jersey -- where she allegedly lied to cops about her birthdate and state of residence -- told TMZ that she got what she deserved. Interesting note: if she serves the full term, Foxy will give birth in prison.

Story developing ...

The bad news didn't end there for Foxy (real name: Inga Marchand), as she was also indicted in Kings County for her alleged attack on a Brooklyn woman with a BlackBerry. What's more, she was indicted on charges of battery in connection with an incident at a Florida hair salon in February.

Her lawyer Alan Stutman told TMZ that he thought the punishment was "unfair." TMZ has learned that Foxy will be transported later tonight to a women's facility on Rikers Island where she will serve her sentence, during which she will be eligible for parole in eight months -- if she behaves, that is.

182. If she had a attacked someone like that in Florida, she would have been answered with the barrel end of a gun. She should feel lucky the Justice system intervened in NY

184. Foxy Brown is a train wreck and I have no sympathy for her whatsover. There is no comparison between what Nicole, Paris or even Lindsey did because those crimes occured in another jurisdiction and state. I have no sympathy for ignorance. This crap with Foxy striking innocent people even when Naomi Campbell did the same thing. The whole deal is ignorant. Justice has been served. Rikers will certainly correct how she treats people in going forward. By the way this particular matter is not a race issue but racism is alive and well in the good US of A.

185. God uses everybody for example
We are all his favor children
He want you to see how many babies in jail having babies

I notice how Mrs. Blidge, Mrs. J. Smith, Ms. Latifah, Mrs. Madonna, Ms.Tara and Ms. Mariah, just a few to name have grown up with their beautiful smiles

But it hurt my heart knowing that mothers and daughters are going to jail together

Not only are we losing our children to the streets, we are losing them in jail too

Just a tale that was told to me when I was a child

The last bad man on earth was Jessie James and when a coward shot him in his back that when everybody thought that they was bad

It is time out from that fighting, start preparing yourself for motherhood

May God bless

Father have mercy on us

Love

God bless
Our Father have mercy on us

Love

The old saying the bad man on earth was Jesse James and when a coward shot him in his bad then everybody started acting bad.

You a beautiful person stop bringing out the ugly in you

Take care of yourself and your unborn

May God Bless

Our Father have mercy on us

Love

188. To Warren Garrison, this isn't about rap music because you could make the same argument against R & B, Rock and ESPECIALLY Heavy Metal! This is about one woman that can't keep her temper in check!

To say that rap music causes this is a cheap excuse. If you are that weak minded that a song can influence bad behavior, then something is wrong with you and your upbrining, not the music!

Don't get me wrong, I think a lot of the rap that has come out in the last 10-15 years is garbage. That's why when I do play rap, I play mainly old stuff from the 70's, 80's and early 90's before it went all gangsta!

Take for example Lindsey Lohan. I don' t know what music she listens to but she was driving under the influence, had coccaine in her possession, ran over a man's foot and sped well over the speed limit in a rage! Again, its not the music or the artist, its her and her alone.

To say that Foxy Brown is in trouble because she's a rapper is dumb. She's in trouble because she can't keep her temper in check! And, I don't even think this is a race issue because look how Naomi Campbell gets away with stuff. True, she had to do community service but no one is going to tell me that sista shouldn't have gotten jail time! By the way, Lindsay should DEFINITELY HAVE GOTTEN MORE THAN ONE DAY OF JAIL TIME!

So, my point is, if the person isn't well adjusted or doesn't have a moral code to begin with, it doesn't matter what they do whether they are a rapper, actor, model or whatever. Foxy being a rapper has nothing to do with her actions nor the decay of society as a whole. It was already decaying LONG before there was rap!

189. Hmm... another celeb who breaks the law but will serves the time. Too bad, if she was blonde and blue eyed and her name started with the letter "H" she would have got off nicely.....

191. She is getting an appropriate punishment. But those who compare it to Paris' probation violation need to remember that Foxy's was a violent crime whereas Paris' was not (thankfully, because someone could easily have been hurt in her case too). And they are in different court jurisdictions. That's why the sentences are so different.

192. Deedee, that argument might hold up against Paris and Nicole but Lindsey?! PLEASE! No one is going to convince me that she deserved less time than Foxy Brown! She should've gotten at least the time that Foxy deservedly is going to get!

Driving under the influence, running over a man's foot, speeding and having coccaine in your possession is just as serious as assaulting someone! I don't care if it was in a different state.

As I said, your argument holds water with Nicole and even Paris BUT Lindsey!? I don't think so!
