Foxy Brown Gets a Year in the Slammer!

Foxy Brown will spend the next year in jail for violating her probation -- and she's going straight back to a cell on Rikers Island, where she's spent the last two weeks.
Breaking News: Foxy Brown
TMZ was in the courtroom when it all went down, and Judge Melissa Jackson slammed Foxy's pleas for mercy, calling her a "great actress," and saying that if this were the first time she'd apologized, she might be believable, but not now. We're told that Foxy was visibly distraught by the verdict, and her mother refused to talk to reporters outside. Foxy originally was sentenced to the probation after an assault on two employees at a nail salon in Manhattan.

Outside the courtroom, cops from New Jersey -- where she allegedly lied to cops about her birthdate and state of residence -- told TMZ that she got what she deserved. Interesting note: if she serves the full term, Foxy will give birth in prison.

Story developing ...

The bad news didn't end there for Foxy (real name: Inga Marchand), as she was also indicted in Kings County for her alleged attack on a Brooklyn woman with a BlackBerry. What's more, she was indicted on charges of battery in connection with an incident at a Florida hair salon in February.

Her lawyer Alan Stutman told TMZ that he thought the punishment was "unfair." TMZ has learned that Foxy will be transported later tonight to a women's facility on Rikers Island where she will serve her sentence, during which she will be eligible for parole in eight months -- if she behaves, that is.

93. Some of you people need to wake up. I'm black and there is no way in hell that I could go out and assualt that many people and not have my butt taken to jail. I'd praying to get a year if I had her rap sheet AND got smart with a judge and guard in open court. That is INSANE. Let's go ahead and stop talking about race and figure out why women can get off so easy in our judicial system.

Do you think I could drive drunk, crash my car, and get busted with coke and get sentenced to 1 day in jail? You can lock all these "girls gone wild" up and I won't feel ANYTHING. The door should swing both ways.

96. Well, why is it that a "ladylike" career get you toilet duty and a day by day fashion show for the paparazzi? The model in question attacked her employees, stole their visa's while they were out of the country and lied to the employee about it but still came up with the visa by throwing it into a pool. She gets to treat people savagely and like slaves and all she gets is publicity. Foxxy is wrong, just as wrong as the model... but fair is fair and the model should've gotten time in the slammer too.

97. LOL I feel old, some people are on her like "who is Foxy Brown"

She was a rapper, pretty big time for a second in the later 90's when I was in college and I guess the people how dont know here were in grade school.

She ran with Jay-Z for a lil bit.

99. The article says:
"TMZ was in the courtroom when it all went down..."

A couple of lines later it says:
"We're told that Foxy was visibly distraught by the verdict..."

Um, if TMZ was in the courtroom, then why did you need to be told that Foxy was upset? Shouldn't you have observed it yourself if you were really there, rather than having to be told?

Something isn't right here...but at least this b1tch got what she deserved finally.

100. How dare anyone bring up Dr. King in this discussion. This is not what he fought and died for, and to imply so is a crime almost worse than Ms. Brown's.

101. For #57 who thinks Foxy should have her baby outside of prison so she can nurture it. From what I see, she isn't the nurturing type. I really don't even know who she is. I find it amusing that all of these celebrities who get in trouble lately all cry when it's time to go to jail. They still haven't figured out that if they don't break the law and get arrested, jail won't be a concern of theirs. I live in CA and I think it's BS that the recent jail sentences of some of these idiots (and you all know who I'm talking about) are ridiculous and I bet any one of "regular people" wouldn't only get a bit over an hour for a 2nd DUI and driving on the wrong side of the freeway. Geez, in CA you can murder your wife/ex wife and be aquitted. We'll see what happens with Phil Spector, but that's another story. I knew before reading a single post that the race card would come into play. Surprise surprise. Maybe Foxy shouldn't have gotten kocked up when it's time to pay for her crime and she wouldn't have a baby in jail. Consequenses for your actions. These famous people either don't remember that or they don't have to if they go to an LA court
