"American Idol" reject Bucky Covington got a real boost to his career -- as headliner at -- hold for it -- The Great Southeast Balloon Fest. The wha? TMZ was on scene when Bucky boy blasted his own brand of hot air and spastic dancing for what looks like an audience of dozens of adoring old folks in Anderson, South Carolina. Bucky "performed" before the hot dog eating contest, and just after the wing eating contest. At least he was out in front of other bands like ... Morris Day and the Time! Oh-wee-oh-wee-oh!
When your final 15 minutes of "Idol" fame tick down ... this is where you go. There's always the balloon ride.
136. Wow, what a horrible thing to say about Bucky!!! Everytime that I get into my car to go somewhere, "It's A Different World", is playing on the air!!!! Wouldn't it be really great, if we could go back to the WORLD that he sings about, instead of the CRUEL AND NASTY WORLD that we live in today? TMZ needs to stick to writing about the people that they are more like; Britney, Paris, Nicole, Lindsay, et al and leave the HARD WORKING PEOPLE ALONE. PROUD TO BE A COUNTRY BUMPKIN REDNECK!!!!!

137. Just to set the record straight - Bucky was booked over a year ago, way before his album came out - so we got a great deal! Anderson is home to an awesome balloon festival and also hosts portions of the National Balloon Championships. If TMZ was really there, then they would have been blown away by both the concerts and the balloons. Have you ever seen 70 balloons rise up into the air at one time? It's awesome! Sorry TMZ is so cynical that the simple things of life are not appreciated. But the rest of you - come on out next year on Labor Day and enjoy this family friendly, economical, fun, and beautiful event.

142. What is TMZ's problem? I liked Bucky and so did a lot of other people! He isn't a joke and has had and will have more than fifteen minutes of fame. Someone with TMZ isn't keeping up with the careers they advise you to trash.

At least Bucky to my knowledge doesnt lip sync his performances unlike someone else we have been smothered by from TMZ articles for months Bucky hasnt been to rehab either that I have been aware of and his career is climbing steadily where miss crotch shot Brit's is DEAD!!! Sure she is trying to resurface and the upcoming awards show is suppose to be where this will happen for the trainwreck but I am hoping that mr mind freak fwill fumble his gig and make her disapear once and for all. 147. First, I live in Anderson, SC and it is an awesome city to live in. And to correct poster #114, I believe, we didn't lose the Freedom Weekend Aloft festival 7 years ago, we just lost it within the last year or so. We had FWA for quite a number of years before it went back to Greenville County. The new Balloon Festival is amazing! TMZ, I love you, but I am not gonna have you knock my town, or Bucky, for anything! The festival and Bucky were great! He was not, and is not, an AI reject by any means. Many of the AI contestants have gone on to do SOMETHING. Many big names performed at fairs and festivals and malls before they got big, what is wrong with that? They are doing what they love, and they are enjoying it! Go ANDERSON! Go BUCKY!

148. The Great Southeast BalloonFest was a great community event for Anderson County, SC. Our community loves hot air balloons and Bucky! He put on one of the best concerts I've ever attended - and I've been to many. Rural America rules and I'm sorry you can't appreciate that. And, by the way - Go back to school and take GEOGRAPHY - SC is NOT in the Midwest!!! So hold for you! And why you are at it - get your schedules and the attendance correct. We had alot more youth than as you say - old folks.

149. I can't find my original comment, so I am again writing to say that I don't know why I even bother to read TMZ. You guys are worse than the Enquirer and I stopped reading that when the Paparrazi were involved in Princess Di's death. Calling Bucky a "Wannabeen" is soooo off base! And, I think you TMZ creeps are getting an earfull on this story...if you can call it a story. Bucky is doing great and destined for superstardom!
