Kanye West has made it clear -- he don't want his MTV. Or does he?

Blaming the music channel for Britney Spears' public meltdown, West put the network on blast, saying, "They exploited her, they played me and I really don't mess with MTV." West was upset because he says he wanted to perform his new single, "Stronger," on the show's main stage, but was relegated to a "suite" performance by the network, even though Justin Timberlake, who also performed in a suite on Sunday's show, ended up "on the big stage" to close the broadcast. Hold up, hater!


A source connected to the awards show tells TMZ that Kanye was offered the main stage, but opted for the suite, claiming he wanted to "feel the excitement and energy" of a smaller venue, rather than people just sitting there at tables. In addition, Kanye's "Stronger" performance was pre-taped Friday night -- to give it a "night" look -- as the actual show went live Sunday night at 6:00 PM, while there was still daylight in Vegas. Our sources say Kanye "loved" his act and expressed that to the MTV execs who were all there. We ain't sayin' he's a golddigger...

For their part, MTV says it "has a long and collaborative relationship with Kanye and we hope and look forward to continuing that meaningful relationship."

138. This egomaniac needs to go away!! I mean, who does that, whin and cry when they do NOT get an award, or is asked to head-line a show??? There are a ton of artists out there that are a better fit for head-liners, as West has made his reputation of being a loud mouth and a huge turn off for any venue! GET OVER YOURSELF and please fade away!!! You are a bad example for the black artists everywere!

141. Anyone who would call this little schmuk a musical genius has to be an even bigger loser than...whats his name. He's not even a friggin' musician. I saw him open up for U2 last year and we booed him off for being so pathetic. He does'nt have enough presence to play to a lot of people.I guess Bono was trying to be nice and throw the little brother a bone, but it was a very failed attempt at generosity. I guarantee you'll never see him on another major tour again. AND . He'll never be the top bill again at an awards show and never win anything again either.He just does'nt have the talent to pull any of these things off. Got it !

142. Kanye is the biggest sore loser ever. Get over yourself. I really hope 50's album out sells Kanyes by 10 million. :) He is no better than anyone else out there trying to make it. He may work had like he said but that dont mean people are going to like what you put out. Its not MTV, its your music and your sissy attitude. Ive always liked 50, but if he acted like a whinney Bi*** like Kanye then i wouldnt buy his crap either.

He may have helped made artists make millions with his producing skills.....but to me hes just a monotone wannabe rapper. Id rather listen to Clay Aiken then listen to him hack the sample from Daft Punk in Stronger. Peace out!

145. TMZ.com serves as my laugh for the day as does all of the posters at exspecially the great Mr Levin...wow!

First of all, Kanye West is known for his blow ups so this does nothing his image. MTV however is the one, who is slowly but surely falling from "grace" I guess you could say. MTV's beloved TRL which has gone from 600,000 viewers in 01 to 300,000 now is failing big time, and the award show...hahahahaha. The VMA's ratings were terrific woohoo, but too bad a that big audience of people witnessed the failure of an amped up show. The Britney Spears performances...give me a break, why the hell would anyone let her perform? Better yet, why would she want to perform right now unprepared? She isn't really fat for walking down the street "nobody" weight, but being as she was performing, hold up, supposed to be giving a COME BACK performance she was no where near the shape she should have been nor was she prepared. But ofcourse...MTV fell right into that little trap of the "TMZ" world and let her perform.

Kanye wasn't wrong in what he said, and all of you idiots that want to continue to call him a sore loser are way off base. People who set high goals for themselves aren't going to take losing so well, but when you have a majority of "left" braing losers commenting on something, can't exspect much. Nobody is saying anything about Beyonce being pissed about getting beat out be Rhiana??

Kanye can cry all day if he wants and it will just add to his crying, BUT MTV, is slipping....more, and more, and more. You people are so silly....enjoy your Super Sweet 16, Hills, Laguna Beach, and Next crap. People should really concentrate on making their lives better rather that listening to this spoiled girls talk about nothing all day....

147. George Bush doesn't care about black people. And second, "yesterday," learn your history. MTV banned blacks on its network for the first few years of its existence. it only started playing them when music exec tommy mottola threatened to pull his whole catalogue of artists from MTV if they didn't start playing michael jackson and other black artists, that the network caved!
