Kanye West has made it clear -- he don't want his MTV. Or does he?
Blaming the music channel for Britney Spears' public meltdown, West put the network on blast, saying, "They exploited her, they played me and I really don't mess with MTV." West was upset because he says he wanted to perform his new single, "Stronger," on the show's main stage, but was relegated to a "suite" performance by the network, even though Justin Timberlake, who also performed in a suite on Sunday's show, ended up "on the big stage" to close the broadcast. Hold up, hater!
A source connected to the awards show tells TMZ that Kanye was offered the main stage, but opted for the suite, claiming he wanted to "feel the excitement and energy" of a smaller venue, rather than people just sitting there at tables. In addition, Kanye's "Stronger" performance was pre-taped Friday night -- to give it a "night" look -- as the actual show went live Sunday night at 6:00 PM, while there was still daylight in Vegas. Our sources say Kanye "loved" his act and expressed that to the MTV execs who were all there. We ain't sayin' he's a golddigger...
For their part, MTV says it "has a long and collaborative relationship with Kanye and we hope and look forward to continuing that meaningful relationship."

This guy is such a crybaby. I thought rappers were tough guys! Anytime he doesn't get what he wants he throws a tantrum. Reminds me of my 2 year old nephew.
whatta douche. it's a shame, too. the guy has genuine talent. I just can't can't get past his hype.
I am not a huge Kanye West or Britney fan, but he is right. MTV did exploit Britney. She is no Angel, but the network took advantage of her "hard times" and vulnerableness. I felt the show itself sucked, but I loved the performances (no matter how bad) because they were entertaining! Which to everyone who seems to have forgotten, that is all they are suppose to be; entertaining!

In the end, I love Kanye. When everyone else is keeping their mouth shut because they are afraid of biting the hand that feeds them, he is speaking up...and he still is a top seller when it comes to records...whether it is his or ones he has produced. Clearly, he saw an injustice in which he felt he must speak on...personally I think MTV did exploit Brtiney. MTV knew she was going to make a fool of herself...and he is speaking on it. Whether you agree or not...in the end...his voice is getting airplay...and yours isn't. If you don't like what he says....stop READING IT...stop LISTENING TO HIS MUSIC!...The same people who say they don't like Kanye...are the same ones walking around saying...."wait till I get my money right...then you can't tell me nothing...right?"....Right.

this is just another star that's told the are the greatest everday, after a while you believe it. You can't blame him for getting upset when he finds out he's maybe not the best everytime. These people don't need yes people they need people to tell them the truth.

Kanye is totally right. Why does MTV give Justin so much credit. He headlined last year. Isn't that enough? Does he have anything new?
And the whole thing with Brittany was deplorable, especially having Sara Silverman come out right after and stick the knife in. That was nasty. More people should object to that.
I give Kanye a lot of credit for speaking his mind.
And yes George Bush does not care about black people, otherwise the feds would have mobilized better during Katrina - anyone could see that.
