Ty Pennington Sued Over ADHD

"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" host Ty Pennington is being sued by a woman who claims that Ty took over her art gallery and fired her. Move that bust!

According to a lawsuit filed yesterday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Melissa Ross claims she opened an art gallery in 2004 called The Jaxon House. Ross alleges that last July, Pennington and his wife/manager, Andrea Bock, approached her about developing a line of furniture to display in the gallery, while still exhibiting traditional art.

Ross alleges that she entered into an agreement with Pennington and Bock, but Pennington was left out of the paperwork for fear it would interfere with his Sears deal -- where Ty has a low-end furniture line. The company, known as Jaxon, launched a line of furniture called ADHD (Art Design Home Decor). Ironically enough, Pennington actually suffers from ADHD (attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder). Go figure!

Shortly after the company was formed, Ross claims that Pennington muscled her out and that "only his designs were to be displayed" at the gallery. Ross is now asking the court for nearly $4,000,000 in damages -- that's a lot of end tables!

Pennington's rep tells TMZ, "Anyone with $320 can file a lawsuit -- even a nuisance suit like this one. This suit has no merit."

136. Get a freaking grip....Pennington does get paid for doing these shows..it is not like he is doing all this good for the "so called" deserving families for free... NO ONE DOES ANYTHING FOR FREE!!!!
as for the families living conditions...hell they need to make over my house then...oh yeah...but I am not black..have 10 kids by 10 different daddies or a rehab-ed crack whore...so no one will renovate my space!!!!
Ty Pennington SUCKS and so does his crappy show....
He probably did take over the womans shop...he is an egomanic...that needs all the glory!!!

138. Ty has stated that he is heterosexual. On Jay Leno, he was publicizing his new interior design (?) magazine and stated that his would be one of the only ones made by a non-gay man. He said it in a comedic fashion, so everyone thought it was funny.

140. Ok, so i am a gay man of 37 years and i have never thought of TY as being GAY. He is a great man who is on TV with an out going personality and an eye for style and people think he is gay. Not so. He is very straight and i am happy the you guys have a great man for the rest of the straight men out there to see and realize that you dont have to be some neaderthal dragging his knuckles and watching football to be "straight".

We all love you Ty for being a nice guy with a good heart.

142. Several people in Southern CA have told me that Ty isn't even a real carpenter. He is a former model. Has anyone actually seen him do anything but yell into his bullhorn. Listen to Adam Corolla on the radio in the morning and call in and ask him about Ty. He is a fake. Also, there have been several families that can't maintain the homes and yards and have sold the houses. Others can't pay the taxes (a lot of them come with big mortgages too) and have lost the house. There are a couple in the bay area that were let go because the families couldn't keep up the payments.

144. After reading many of these comments I truly believe that it should be MANDATORY for "contributors" to have to provide THEIR pics, background AND IQ !!! Are we to ASSUME that you are the PERFECT speciman of the human race and that you have some RIGHT to just BASH anybody/everybody at free will??? It's quite obvious that there is a great deal lacking in alot of your lives which makes you feel you're justified in trying to take down everyone else with your sorry selves!! It just seems that no matter how many folks are helped out by someone, there are just waaaaaaaaaaaay too many of you standing in line with YOUR hand out waiting for your turn!!! And when it doesn't come, hey, just go off on those who are fortunate enough to get a chance to improve their lives and especially go off on anybody who in some way does their part to make it happen!! You are a sad lot !!!!

146. From an insiders point of view if anyone actually cares about the truth....this was a joint venture where both parties opened the gallery/store. The difference between everyone is that Melissa didn't pay her share, ie. rent, store expenses etc. When it caught up to her she decided to quit (was not fired) and sue for the hard work Ty put into the business. She doesn't have a penny to her name (which is still on the store lease) and was never muscled out of anything. This was also a seperate venture with Ty which means this business was independent of ABC, Extremes Makeover etc. What does that translate to? The store is permantly closed and shes loses her gallery, any money she thought she could swindle and two close friends.

149. Here is the real truth. It absolutly was a joint venture involving all parties. Andrea and Melissa were partners and Ty was the invester. He wanted to use the store as an oppertunity to showcase his high end designs. He kept his name off all the paperwork to avoid contract issues with Sears where he has a line of low end furniture. The store was suppose to feature local Venice furniture designers as well as Ty's stuff . Melissa contributed her lease that she had already had for 3 years and she was to be the active manager of the business and in return she was 49% sharholder of the new business. Ty invested the cash with the intention of getting back. well... the original plan changed and they decided to create one brand under the trademark adhd. By doing that they could create a chain of adhd stores. Great idea!!! Except Ty and Drea didn't want to share it with Melissa so they tried to bully her out. Really, I don't blame him for not wanting to give her 1/2 of the business after all, it is his name and designs but, Melissa did close her existing business to form this new corporation with Ty and Drea and they were the ones who wanted to change the plan. Now she is left with nothing and has to start over. It may not have seemed to Ty and Drea that Melissa had much to begin with, but to her it was everything and she worked hard to get it. I really don't think it's Melissa's intention to get 4 million from Ty. That number is really to show the potential of what the business could of been worth. I hope at the very least she gets enough to start over. And for what it's worth, Melissa thought the world of both Ty and Drea and is very hurt by the outcome of this situation. Live and learn!!!

150. Why do people post when they have no connections to what is really going on?? Melissa is sueing them not the other way around. If she is so concerned with their friendship then why is she doing this? Please!!! FACT: She was employed by them and she quit! FACT: She quit before the store even opened so Ty wasn't even making any money. How can you bully somoene out of nothing? FACT: She was very close to Ty, Drea and everyone else who worked with them and SHE decided to end their relationship (me included) . FACT: She borrowed money from Ty (which was given in good faith) and he hasn't seen a dime of that. FACT: She was and is on the lease of the building and a partner of the company so Ty couldn't force her out of anything FACT: If you question any of these things stop reading these posts and check for yourself. Ask the owner of the property who was and is paying ALL the rent. Ask the other tenant her also has a gallery in the back of the building their thoughts. If Melissa was fired as she claims then why hasn't she filed for unemployement which is her God given right? Because she quit and gave up on the project all together. She saw an oportunity to swindle a successful person and valued that over the friendship and job she had with them!!! FACT FACT FACT. Don't believe me check for yourself!!!
