Ty Pennington Sued Over ADHD

Ty Pennington"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" host Ty Pennington is being sued by a woman who claims that Ty took over her art gallery and fired her. Move that bust!

According to a lawsuit filed yesterday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Melissa Ross claims she opened an art gallery in 2004 called The Jaxon House. Ross alleges that last July, Pennington and his wife/manager, Andrea Bock, approached her about developing a line of furniture to display in the gallery, while still exhibiting traditional art.

Ross alleges that she entered into an agreement with Pennington and Bock, but Pennington was left out of the paperwork for fear it would interfere with his Sears deal -- where Ty has a low-end furniture line. The company, known as Jaxon, launched a line of furniture called ADHD (Art Design Home Decor). Ironically enough, Pennington actually suffers from ADHD (attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder). Go figure!

Shortly after the company was formed, Ross claims that Pennington muscled her out and that "only his designs were to be displayed" at the gallery. Ross is now asking the court for nearly $4,000,000 in damages -- that's a lot of end tables!

Pennington's rep tells TMZ, "Anyone with $320 can file a lawsuit -- even a nuisance suit like this one. This suit has no merit."

31. Why would anyone think he is gay?

32. Why is it so shameful that she was trying to capitalize on his name and talents? That is simply smart business sense--as long as the person you are dealing with is ethical. I've seen other people get pushed out of their own businesses by lying, thieving jerkos who don't have a creative bone in their body--so they steal the talents of others.

33. Ty Pennington is one of the more decent people around, so I would tend to believe his side of the story more than some woman who is probably just trying to get money out of him. 4 million? Come on, lady!

34. Why give airplay to this man? He is the most boring person since the Olson twins hit the scene.

36. I know all the issues regarding this gallery. Said plaintiff put blood sweat and tears into this gallery. Ty and his girl befriended them, wee introduced to the local community by them, then swooped in to swindle this valuable space. This won't stand in the community...its still venice. Perhaps a visit from the V13 will give Ty second thoughts?

37. I think it's just sad. If he were an ordinary person off the street this wouldn't have hit the press, period. That said, I think the entire allegation is ridiculous. Noone can push you out of a business you own unless you've done something to personally allow or accept such. Really. I'm sure he can afford his own space and wouldn't need to impose. She's cashing in on tying her name with a celebrity.

I love Ty Pennington as he reminds me so much of my own ADHD son. He's just awesome, and I commend all he's done with himself (with the exception of the DUI).

38. I think this whole situation is sad. I know both parties involved and they were actually great friends. I was there when they celebrated the new partnership. I think two many people were involved with no real plan and it got out of control. Ty is a control freak and Melissa is pretty strong headed herself. As for Drea, she seems like she was always drunk!!! I hope they work it out. Melissa and her husband have struggled for a long time and worked very hard to just lose it all to an ego maniac control freak celebrity. One thing I know for sure , It was suppose to be a partnership. I heard it from the horses mouth himself.

39. Andrea Bock is his longtime girlfriend ..... not his wife. He has commented on his "commitment" issues in the past.

40. It just so happens that I sat beside Ty in a restaurant this past weekend and for the whole hour or so that we were sitting there, we watched as people CONSTANTLY interrupted his dinner and asked for a picture or just asked questions. Not once did he complain or act frustrated! He was so patient with everyone. In fact his words were....."I would rather it be this way than to not be recognized at all". Not once did he act as if he were better than us.

41. Ty Pennington and the staff of Extreme Makeover Home Edition do more good for truly needy people in this country than a lot of so-called charities run by tight-fisted bureaucrats. This woman is trying to cash in on his fame, nothing more, and it's absolutely sickening.

Extreme Makeover Home Edition is just about the only worthwhile television worth watching. It is heart-wrenching, inspiring, and glorious.

43. Sue his ass off, lady. He's one of the biggest douche bags on TV. He's definitely outlasted his 15 minutes.

44. Don't they mean wife/BEARD/manager? That marriage is a sham. Just like his fake, "heartwrenching" television program. It's all a put on! None of these celebrities do anything for anyone but themselves.
And what became of the DUI/drug charges filed against Mr. Personality? And what's he doing on TV commercials pushing pain relievers after all that?
Wake up!

45. So I'm not the only one to have thought TY was gay. Wonders never cease. And that he suffers the disorder that he does. Really, no kidding? However, his show does some good. Yes, most of it's hokey and scripted but they do help people, the homes are beautiful, and I always watch. Mostly to see the end product but I have been known to shed tears...The bullhorn could go though.
