Ty Pennington Sued Over ADHD

Ty Pennington"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" host Ty Pennington is being sued by a woman who claims that Ty took over her art gallery and fired her. Move that bust!

According to a lawsuit filed yesterday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Melissa Ross claims she opened an art gallery in 2004 called The Jaxon House. Ross alleges that last July, Pennington and his wife/manager, Andrea Bock, approached her about developing a line of furniture to display in the gallery, while still exhibiting traditional art.

Ross alleges that she entered into an agreement with Pennington and Bock, but Pennington was left out of the paperwork for fear it would interfere with his Sears deal -- where Ty has a low-end furniture line. The company, known as Jaxon, launched a line of furniture called ADHD (Art Design Home Decor). Ironically enough, Pennington actually suffers from ADHD (attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder). Go figure!

Shortly after the company was formed, Ross claims that Pennington muscled her out and that "only his designs were to be displayed" at the gallery. Ross is now asking the court for nearly $4,000,000 in damages -- that's a lot of end tables!

Pennington's rep tells TMZ, "Anyone with $320 can file a lawsuit -- even a nuisance suit like this one. This suit has no merit."

48. We the average public out here don't realistically have enough information to draw conclusions of any sort from this report: we know what we're told, and only what we're told.
Guaranteed there's 97.5% of the happenings in this we do not know.
And likely never will.

It is a ingrained human desire to draw conclusions - sometimes there's cause to resist doing so - which is very hard to do .

49. If his name isn't in the paper work of the contract, as it states in the story, she has no grounds for her law suit against him. Period.

51. Ty is a phony. All he does is run around screaming and yelling in that damn megaphone. I really thought he and his "designer" buddy were a couple.

52. you do know that the network pays for those makeovers,,he's not just going out being Dudley-Do-Right. If you don't watch the show and boost it's ratings,,no one gets a new house no matter how bad off they are.

53. Back off, folks. The show and its host/cohosts make the world a better place. I sat with a few of the designers on a cross-country flight. They were decent human beings, even though one on them was star-struck that Sharon Stone was sitting across the aisle. (She, unfortunately, is self-absorbed.)

55. As far as DUI in comment 41 and the question "What else can he do now?"
He can go on being a human being having faults and virtues; failures and succeses; making good choices and poor choices; having attitudes and issues - just like the rest of us.
He is neither villian nor angel; he is Human, which tends toward a mix of both, and some days are better than others.

I wish everyone could accept that both in others and themselves.
And then make daily decisions about which way it will go in them today.

56. Uh I like his show, he does good things for people. I knew he was not gay, however i do think that one of the other designers is. It is no ones business anyway what he does with his life. She prob is in need of money.

57. I don't get it. If it was her gallery, why didn't she cancel his contract?

58. This is my thought, you all have thought for years that some famous football players were straight, and found out later they were gay. gay is no wrong just not totally excepted yet! the church rebels against the thought even though half of the priests and pastors out there commit sexual acts with people of the same sex! Ty Pennington is not a bad man, he is a good person too! i have meet him on his show, when i was in the navy, and he was not rude or inconsiderate! you all should be ashamed, i mean you all have bad days, maybe that day he was on the plane he was having a bad day, and you all were harassing him for an autograph, so in that case leave him alone you bunch of hipocrits! look at the fingers pointing at your self before you point the finger at someon else.

59. You idiots who know nothing: 1. His show is/was not canceled, it is one of the networks top Sunday programs; 2. He was not on several shows as a carpenter; he was one of a couple of regular carpenters on the original Trading Spaces and did a great job, including designing his own furniture; 3. He is not conceited; when he was in Wisconsin last year, everyone loved him; 4. Know his girlfriend from Atlanta from before Trading Spaces and while he was on the show ... he was definitely no gay. She is an intelligent, great girl who speaks very fondly about TY. Some of you people just like to pull others down into the pit in which you live. Stay there and wallow alone. Accept that there are good people in the world and some of them are famous and continue to be successful, despite your wishing them otherwise. This woman is trying to use his name to get some money... that is why she started in the business deal in the first place... no way could it be worth 4 million... look at that number and think about the validity of that kind of claim. He is annoying sometimes, but has so much enthusiasm for what he does. The show does play on emotions but it has done a lot of good for many families. You detractors, go back to admiring Britney or Paris, or whatever else it is you do to make yourself feel better about yourselves.

60. sounds like this chick's trying to get in her 15 minutes of fame.

and I'm surprised at how many people confuse Ty's ADHD for being gay.
