George Clooney -- The Consummate Gentleman

George Clooney was in high spirits last night, taking time to shoot the breeze with a TMZ camera. Confessions of a courteous mind!

Our photog ran into Mr. Ocean outside of New York's Nobu, where the affable actor gave a homeless man some dough and a warm pat on the shoulder. Nice touch! Cordial George was even watchful of our backwards-walking photog, saying he would feel like "a rat" if anyone got hurt filming him. Thanks, Batman!

Then he took our camera in his own hands, discussing the difference between brands and some techniques for getting the right shot! When the lesson was over, Georgie gave the equipment back and took off. Good night, and good luck!

(And yes, that is Rande Gerber, Cindy Crawford's hottie hubby, with him. Gorgeous guys travel in packs!)

17. Worked on a press junket featuring him. He came in, smiling, courteous, and before he left he went around and shook hands with everyone on the crew, thanking them for their work and generally just being nice.

Seriously, I know a lot of lower-level crew that have worked with him, and not one of them has ever said he's anything less than a great guy.

20. That is very typical George Clooney - classy and cool. I live in NH, and was an extra in "The Perfect Storm." George is funny, friendly, VERY gentlemanly, mesmerizing up close - did I mention FUNNY! Everyone in Gloucester adored him, Mark Wahlberg, and the rest of the cast and crew. I love my husband, but George is my ideal of "The Perfect Gentleman."

22. I think it's beginning to be odd that a man that old is still just a pin-up. No family of his own or serious relationship.

He's becoming a prisoner of his public persona. (Good-looking, a ladies man, funny etc)

23. on ER he was really handsome, and modest. Now we've created a monster who thinks he's a kid in a candy store.

Grow up. I hate the carefully cultivated kool, studied casualness and off-the-shelf humour.

Yuck!

25. Anybody remember ten years ago when Princess Diana was killed, and Mr. Nice Guy here was out giving press conferences about how EVIL the paparazzi was? And then they got so pissed that they used to turn away their cameras when he made an appearance anywhere?

I guess he figured out not to bite the hands that feed him, eh? I'm just sayin'.

27. 23. Dang - first time in my life that I have wanted to be a skanky stripper from Vegas! LOL! I don't care if he is gay or not - my chances with him are the same either way - none. I can still dream, though!

29. Mathew McConaughey, take note.

30. As one poster put it....George is classy and cool.

I don't think he's gay. I thnk he's put himself out there as -- a straight man who's attracted to women. And who has made it clear he does not want to ever get married. Some people insist then he must be gay.

And as if being married means a man is straight. What a joke. There are bisexual men and gay men men in the closet who are married.
