"Idol" Loser Sticks Up for Brit

Britney Spears has at least one fan ... other than cryin' Chris Crocker.

TMZ caught retoothed "American Idol" wannabeen Elliot Yamin leaving the Ivy yesterday afternoon, where he told our photog he though Brit's "performance" was "awesome ... I give it a thumbs up!"

Was he watching the same show?!

31. You mean there was other people on AI5 besides Katharine McPhee.

Interesting.

32. This was something unusual in today's society of under educated, overly brash, and singularly rude citizens: someone who doesn't kick a fellow human being when he/she is down. Come on, TMZ, enough has been said about Spears and sending tenacious and non-thinking goons into the streets to rehash the obvious is non-entertainment for the pin-headed. Will you do anything for money? Of course you will. This was a gentleman in a world of cretins...good for him..I will look up his music as others here suggest it may be worthwhile.

36. Hey Elliott...better have your eyes examined too...and your ears! Don't be polite when you need to be honest.....Britney is on the road to being a "has been"... Then, she can spend all her free time drinking and changing diapers...I will take Beyonce anytime who has remained scandal-free inspite of her success!

Britney's failure to make up with her Mom is not doing her any good all....she will surely experience the same treatment when her boys grow up!

37. He's a singer, not a gossip columnist. I think he probably gets the fact that anyone in the public eye can bomb, and be the target of vicious talk.
Oh, and by the way. He's not a "wannabeen". Check the charts. And watch his career. He will be around for a long, long time. His act isn't based on smoke and mirrors and lip-synch. He's a rare talent today. He's a singer.
And speaking as a woman: he's definitely hot, and was even before he was "retoothed".

38. Obviously Claudette raised her boy(s) right. Elliott was being polite and a gentleman.
By the way--this wannabeen has crossed the country TWICE in the past year on tours, has raised awareness for Juvenile Diabetes, is headed to tour oversees as well as his Fall Tour.
His cd is selling in the hundreds of thousands. So I guess being second runner up isn't all that bad now, is it?
See you on the Flip Side!

40. It's nice to see that so many of the Idol "losers" from 2006 have hit singles... I just heard the AT Top 40 & Elliott's single was at number 4. And on VH!, his video has been #1 on their countdown for a couple of months.
Regarding his Britney comment... he seems like a nice guy and who knows what he really thought -- I thought he handled the situation very well. Celebrities are ambushed by the paparazzi and gossip reporters all the time, looking for "dirt" ... you have to be on your guard when someone rushes up with a camera and starts firing questions. It's obvious that Elliott seriously did NOT want to talk to the reporter at all and kept trying to walk away. Rather than taking the bait, he took the high road. I respect that.

41. Elliott Yamin has a very admirable reputation for being a genuinely kind person. The kind of famous people who bash others do it only to get attention, and the ones who typically do that are the ones who don't have enough talent to get noticed for that, so they jump into any available drama to compensate for mediocre talent. Elliott Yamin has a phenomenal voice and does not need to get involved in any petty and ridiculous Hollywood drama to get noticed. His voice, involvement in positive things like charity work for diabetes and doing a concert for next to nothing after planners were scammed by a con man just so his fans would not be disappointed...all those things keep him too busy to be bothered by taking any pleasure in the misery of others.

TMZ may as well just leave Elliott alone because he simply does not sink to the level of the typical TMZ celebrity fodder.

Elliott Yamin has always been, is and will always be a class act who doesn't bash others.

And since when were recording artists with a current gold record on virtually every chart considered "losers" or "wannabeens?" Guess we all now know just how much weight can be put in the stories reported by TMZ. They clearly do not check their facts.

42.
Elliott is not one to talk down about others. All he is striving for is an honest living sharing his God given talent and doing what he loves to do. I think he showed true class when he was confronted by an obvious attempt to get him to say something negative about her. Good for Elliott Yamin, no wonder his fans not only love him and his singing but also love the fact that he is a class act!

44. Who cares what this U-G-L-Y guy thinks...He may get his teeth fixed but he still is a short (5'2") little ugly, hard to look at guy, with just a decent voice....He's too ugly for star material...

45. This sad world needs kindness and Elliott has it in spades! Doesn't anyone realize the healing power of love?...If EVERYONE tried a little more love-and living by the golden rule, we wouldn't have situations like Britney's...Elliott and his music are all about love and that is why he has hundreds of thousands of fans here and all around the world who are wild over him! What the world needs now is LOVE, SWEET LOVE! Thank you, Mr. Elliott Yamin!
