Carol's Dress Returned -- By a Homeless Fan!
TMZ has learned that Carol Channing's prized "diamond dress" has been returned. Hallelujah!
TMZ spoke with a rep for the Hollywood Renaissance hotel who told us that a homeless Caucasian man -- a person completely not fitting the description of the person of interest caught on surveillance tape -- walked into the hotel lobby about an hour ago. The man approached a hotel security guard and handed over a bag containing the dress. The man told the guard that he found the dress in a plaid shopping bag in a park in Hollywood. He said he was a huge fan of Ms. Channing's and had heard about the stolen dress on the news, and felt the need to return it to her. That's karma, buddy!
We've learned Carol met with the man this evening, and even took a couple of pictures. No word on whether the man will receive a reward for the return.
