GLAAD to Ja Rule -- You Da Problem, Homey!

Ja RuleRapper Ja Rule recently made the following asinine statement in Complex Magazine about what he thinks is really causing the downfall of society, "...lets talk about all these f***ing shows that they have on MTV that is promoting homosexuality, that my kids can't watch this s**t. Dating shows that's showing two guys or two girls in mid afternoon. Let's talk about s**t like that! If that's not f***ing up America, I don't know what is." Um, how 'bout gun violence, poverty and a broken health care system?!

Get GLAAD's statement, after the jump.

In response to Ja's homophobic remarks, GLAAD issued the following statement:

"No fair-minded person can look at JaRule's interview with Complex Magazine and believe for one second that his children could be more harmed by what they might see on television than by the vulgarity and prejudice that comes out of their father's mouth. Now that media have seen JaRule's intolerance unmasked by his own words, they have a responsibility not to provide in the future a platform for his ugly, vulgar displays of prejudice." Word!

17. So the real question is.. Does he talk like that in front of his kids? I mean he has no problem talking to the media so that his words can be seen by other people's kids. And while he's at it maybe he can teach his children and other people's children to hate people who aren't like them. Yeah that's a great idea. Nothing like prejudice and four letter words to show off good parenting skills. /sarcasm

20. Yeah, this whole thing with people loving each other is really ruining the world. God forbid his children turn on the tv and see people tolerant of and caring about each other versus shooting each other. Isn't he a wannabe thug anyways? And homosexuality is totally contagious too. Or you can choose it, right? That's why US Senators go looking for sex in airport bathrooms. What an idiot. He's acting the exactly how someone acts when they are wrong and don't want to admit it.

21. Where is Al Sharpton? He states he's against ALL hatred but he's not on the forfront for the gay community. Step up Al and use your voice on this one!

22. Yeah #16. J I agree with you. I dont want my kids watching gay people making out on tv. That is NOT the way that GOD made us. And I dont care what people think about my opinion. But it is getting a little out of hand with the gay people on tv. And no one in here can say that they have never slipped up a bad word or two in front of their children. I guarantee that a little kid would ask their parents "Mommy why two men were making out on tv?" rather then "mommy why did you say A$$?"

23. As a woman, I feel that he should curb his lyrics because how are his kids going to treat his wife or their girlfriends or wives, etc. I wouldn't want to be called a bitch by my husband and I definitely wouldn't want my kids to call me one, but if my husband wrote songs about women only being bitches and of use for only sex, i'd be pretty pissed. You always point out what someone else needs to change because it's easier than changing yourself and he needs to look at himself and the words and actions he is making before he starts pointing fingers elsewhere.

25. He's spot on!! Good for you JA. Shows like he's describing certainly aren't helping the problem.

28. wow, i typically don't agree with anything these rappers have to say, especially kanye west, but i like his comments here. note to tmz staff: poverty will never be defeated because one cannot forcibly instill responsibility and good work ethic in others and free healthcare for all at the expense of a few will never hold up. ie social security. i think since lyndon johnson declaration of the war on poverty we spent upwards of 6 trillion and have not made any marked progress and if you can come up with some empirical data otherwise, i'd love to see it. i don't know about you, but i think it highly immoral that i have to work until may of each year just to pay these ridiculous programs.

29. Jarule......is absolutely right. What they are doing is not of God!! What that being said I think it should not be allowed to be shown on T.V along with alot of other violent shows. This can of behavior has a great impact on kids. I think they should enforce more family oriented tv shows that will show the kids some more morals, education shows to enhance their learning ability, and spiritual shows so they can learn to fight off the temptation that they face on a daily basis. A MOTHER WHO CARES!!!!!!!!!!!

30. I think Ja-Rule has a filthy mouth, but I do agree with him about what is being shown on tv. Yes, it's up to parents to control what their children is watching but at the same time shouldn't there be standards as to what is being broadcasted in the day time. Another thing that bothers me is that we people need to stop attacking one another and start attacking the issues that are arising rapidly in our communities.

To Ja-Rule, leave out some of the vulgarity when you speak and people will take you a little more seriously.
