Train Wrecks
GLAAD to Ja Rule -- You Da Problem, Homey!

Ja RuleRapper Ja Rule recently made the following asinine statement in Complex Magazine about what he thinks is really causing the downfall of society, "...lets talk about all these f***ing shows that they have on MTV that is promoting homosexuality, that my kids can't watch this s**t. Dating shows that's showing two guys or two girls in mid afternoon. Let's talk about s**t like that! If that's not f***ing up America, I don't know what is." Um, how 'bout gun violence, poverty and a broken health care system?!

Get GLAAD's statement, after the jump.

In response to Ja's homophobic remarks, GLAAD issued the following statement:

"No fair-minded person can look at JaRule's interview with Complex Magazine and believe for one second that his children could be more harmed by what they might see on television than by the vulgarity and prejudice that comes out of their father's mouth. Now that media have seen JaRule's intolerance unmasked by his own words, they have a responsibility not to provide in the future a platform for his ugly, vulgar displays of prejudice." Word!

46. "I remember right around September 11, Ja Rule was on MTV. 'We got Ja Rule on the phone. Let's see what Ja's thoughts are on this tragedy.' Who gives a (xx) what Ja Rule thinks at a time like this? This is ridiculous. I don't wanna dance; I'm scared to death. I want some answers that Ja Rule might not have right now. Think when bad (xx) happens to me I be in the crib like 'Oh my god this is terrible. Can somebody please find Ja Rule, get ahold of this (xx) so I can make sense of all this? WHERE IS JA?? Help me Ja Rule!'"

I'm so happy that I will NEVER know how it feels to be the SHAME of my family. It is equally Shamefully pathetic if all of you think the same.

49. It is common knowledge freaks and bohemians rule the pop culture when the downfall of civilization is at hand. However, I find little difference between inner city kids who preach a culture of violence and death and alternative lifestyles that shun creation of nuclear families.

The fact is that the opinion of one thug celeb means nothing. It is media gatekeeps who buy and sell what we see who are the real culprits. Those who worship money and power and sell death to the masses to effect shrewd population control of those who outnumber them.

There is a such thing as human predators in this world. They will poison the media with money, power, bullets and bombs because they can't have love, sex, families and babies.

There was an old school movie about it---Citizen Kane. These sort of people control the zeitgeist and are evil incarnate. Consumers are just pawns who will buy anything you sell them. From foul excrement posing as art to death for oil as a war on terror. You get the idea.

50. He needs to clean up his mouth before he can criticize anyone else. People living in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. I would want anyone kids to listen to his filth. He has a right to say anything he wants, but who is going to listen to someone who sounds foolish. I bet if gay people were bitchin' about his "black ass", he's be wanting to kill someone. Get over yourself and get a dictionary so you can sound intelligent. It's a free country for everone: gay or not. We even have to deal with your mouth. And why are you giving black people such a bad image?

51. Ja Rule just painted himself to be an idiot along with anyone that agrees with what he said. It goes back to his upbringing and surroundings and so forth and he's continuing the cycle. I can't believe this moron has kids, I feel sorry for them.

52. How ignorant.

#39, I agree with you to an extent. People who take the Bible 100% literally need to be punched in the face. It was written by men with prejudices that, unfortunately, have not since gone away. The sad thing is that most people don't get that.

Jesus wasn't white. He was Middle Eastern.

55. WOW, I read these comments on the site time to time and its show how screwed America really is. Some of the racist comments make me embarrassed to be white. Idiotic comments that show how some of us have failed to evolve.

56. Approving of sexual discrimination is just as bad as approving of racial discrimination. Ja Rule is just made because his career has flopped.

57. Since TMZ wont post my last comment I will try to say this, so it's not alright for a guy to rap (or sing) about what he has been through (thats what most songs are about, past experiences) but it IS alright to show all the "perfect" people and basically giving out the message that if you aren't beautiful then you wont get on TV to be like your favorite star or if you don't weigh 100 lbs at 5'7", have blond hair and have C-cups then you wont be noticed. How many shows promote the NORMAL people? All the shows now are focused around how much money these people have. Talent? I think not.

58. I find it amusing when black people are not accepting of homosexuals, especially in the United States. It's called Civil Rights, people. Acceptance. Open-mindedness. It's funny that other minorities (such as black Ja Rule) think they should be able to have these rights, but someone who is gay? Oh heavens no.

It ultimately comes down to the same thing: freedom and equality.

60. The point JaRule should have made about gays being on TV is the gratuitous sex that goes on. This is for gays as well as for straight persons. There's too much sex and violence on TV! Thank goodness my daughter is only two because the raciest thing she's ever seen is Swiper stealing Dora's talking backpack!!!
