O.J.'s Bail Set At $78,000

O.J. SimpsonUPDATE: No bail for O.J.

TMZ has learned that O.J. Simpson's bail has been set at $78,000.

The breakdown is as follows:
a) $10,000 for each count of assault with a deadly weapon
b) $20,000 for each count of robbery with a deadly weapon
c) $15,000 for the one count of burglary with the use of a deadly weapon
d) $3,000 for the conspiracy to commit robbery with a deadly weapon count

We're told O.J. is quiet and calm. A source at the jail tells us Simpson will have limited interaction with jail personnel. He'll be held, by himself, in a booking cell, and only necessary law enforcement staff will have contact with him.

The jail holds roughly 4,000 inmates in two buildings. We're told he will go through the search process like everyone else.

Our sources say the Juice has been very cooperative with authorities.

181. This time there will not be any jury rigging for fear of "civil unrest".
The Las Vegas Police Department would welcome any opportunity
to thin the herd.

183. THAT'S SO NICE that O.J. is cooperating. Is this a positive sign that he has turned over a new leaf and will continue his cooperation by taking care of the judgement that was ordered in the civil trial 10 years ago?

187. Oh, and on the original $78k amount. It's the same with any lockup. You get arrested, sent to the hole, you are allowed a call to a bail commissioner in order to either, a) release on O.R. or b) bail/bond. They look @ your record, your pending charges and so on in order to set either no amount and release, release w/ bail/bond, or deny release until arraignment.

Obviously a certain somebody has an arrest record longer than most people's arms, so no duh he got denied bail.

189. In the US you are still innocent until proven guilty, unless the media gets hyped up and people like Nancy Grace decide you're guilty. Then, it's trial by media, you're presumed guilty instead of presumed innocent. Then Nancy and her clones across the airwaves see to it that their criminal justice system of trial by media convicts you if at all possible. How can anyone get a fair trial with all the media hype? The police and prosecutors and often the judge all work together with the media to get their side played in the news, that you are guilty. Remember the Duke LaCrosse case? Finally an overzealous prosecutor got caught using the media to try to falsely convict three suspects who were almost railroaded, and they would have been if they didn't have rich parents to go to bat for them.
