Vegas Cops: The O.J. Details

The Las Vegas Metro Police Department issued the following press release about the arrest of O.J. Simpson:

On Thursday, September 13, 2007 at approximately 8 p.m. the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received a call of a robbery that had just occurred at 2411 W. Sahara Avenue.

Officers responded to that location and they were told that one of the suspects that was involved in the robbery was O. J. Simpson. Robbery Detectives responded to that location, and were informed by the victims that several individuals had come in contact with the victims and had taken sports memorabilia from the victims. According to the victims several firearms were used during the robbery. On Friday, September 14, 2007, detectives received an anonymous tip that a subject involved with the robbery would be at the airport. Detectives were able to confirm this information and on Saturday, September 15, 2007 , were able to contact an individual at the airport, who agreed to be interviewed. This person was identified as Walter Alexander, 46 years old of Mesa, AZ.

Walter Alexander was arrested for Conspiracy to Commit a Robbery, Robbery with Deadly Weapon (2 Counts), Assault with a Deadly Weapon (2 Counts) and Burglary with a Deadly Weapon. After interviewing Alexander, detectives obtained three search warrants. Detectives served those search warrants and recovered two firearms believed to be used in the commission of the armed robbery along with clothing and items reported stolen during the robbery. All of the information received was compiled and on Sunday, September 16, 2007 a decision was made that enough evidence was present to arrest Orenthal James Simpson. After consulting with the Clark County District Attorney, robbery detectives were sent to the hotel where Mr. Simpson was staying. At 11:05 a.m. Mr. Simpson was arrested and taken into custody without incident. He invoked his right to counsel and was transported to Metro's Robbery Section Office.

Mr. Simpson is being arrested for Robbery with a Deadly Weapon (2 Counts), Assault with a Deadly Weapon (2 Counts), Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, and burglary with a firearm. Mr. Simpson was transported to the Clark County Detention Center and booked on the above charges.

Michael McClinton (Black Male Adult) 49 years old, resident Las Vegas, NV.
Tom Scotto (White Male Adult) Unknown age & residence

31. These other guys (who were not strangers to O>J>) have just been taken by him due to the stars in their eyes at being in his "exalted presence" and they will be dealt a sucker punch because of his lying. At least he didn't use his knife on them.

35. Gee, O.J....what happened? Once a criminal, always a criminal? Think you're above the law? Glad you're in the pokey. Maybe this time, you'll stay in there for a while. Rot in hell, you killer. God knows the truth, and you do too. SHAME ON YOU!

38. Our justice system failed once by letting a murderer (x's 2) go free. It's just divine intervention that made O.J. such an idiot and breaking the law again. Let's hope the judicial system doesn't let us down this time around...
Burn in HELL Orenthal...

40. They are rolling the nail carpet for OJ. If they can stick it to him, that DA will probably run for President too. Giuliani is! The sad thing is that is all blown out of proportion. I for one, doubt very much that someone as notorious as OJ would get involved with gun totting individuals to commit arm robbery. This does not pass the laughing test. But there are a myriad of people out there who still believe he really killed his wife. When a lie is told, big enough. long enough, and often enough, people come to believe it for truth, no matter what common sense dictates.

42. Praise him? Let me guess.......you're Al Sharpton? Jesse Jackson? I hope they put him UNDER the jail this time, and throw away the key. He deserves to never see the light of day again. I hope they give him the maximum sentence allowed under law. He came into that room and threatened the occupants with a weapon, and stole not only the memorabilia, but also the victims' cell phones, then tried to convince one of them to tell police there were no guns. Thank goodness O.J. was stupid enough to leave that message on the guy's answering machine. And yes, it requires this much attention. All these years he has gotten away with crime after crime, and thought he was above the law because of who he is. Well, let's hope we get a jury with brains this time. At least he is being held without bail.
