Vegas Cops: The O.J. Details

The Las Vegas Metro Police Department issued the following press release about the arrest of O.J. Simpson:

On Thursday, September 13, 2007 at approximately 8 p.m. the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received a call of a robbery that had just occurred at 2411 W. Sahara Avenue.

Officers responded to that location and they were told that one of the suspects that was involved in the robbery was O. J. Simpson. Robbery Detectives responded to that location, and were informed by the victims that several individuals had come in contact with the victims and had taken sports memorabilia from the victims. According to the victims several firearms were used during the robbery. On Friday, September 14, 2007, detectives received an anonymous tip that a subject involved with the robbery would be at the airport. Detectives were able to confirm this information and on Saturday, September 15, 2007 , were able to contact an individual at the airport, who agreed to be interviewed. This person was identified as Walter Alexander, 46 years old of Mesa, AZ.

Walter Alexander was arrested for Conspiracy to Commit a Robbery, Robbery with Deadly Weapon (2 Counts), Assault with a Deadly Weapon (2 Counts) and Burglary with a Deadly Weapon. After interviewing Alexander, detectives obtained three search warrants. Detectives served those search warrants and recovered two firearms believed to be used in the commission of the armed robbery along with clothing and items reported stolen during the robbery. All of the information received was compiled and on Sunday, September 16, 2007 a decision was made that enough evidence was present to arrest Orenthal James Simpson. After consulting with the Clark County District Attorney, robbery detectives were sent to the hotel where Mr. Simpson was staying. At 11:05 a.m. Mr. Simpson was arrested and taken into custody without incident. He invoked his right to counsel and was transported to Metro's Robbery Section Office.

Mr. Simpson is being arrested for Robbery with a Deadly Weapon (2 Counts), Assault with a Deadly Weapon (2 Counts), Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, and burglary with a firearm. Mr. Simpson was transported to the Clark County Detention Center and booked on the above charges.

Michael McClinton (Black Male Adult) 49 years old, resident Las Vegas, NV.
Tom Scotto (White Male Adult) Unknown age & residence

49. I work as a police officer for the LVPD and wanted to inject my knowledge of what Mr. Simpson is really faceing. With the severity of the charges, the number of charges that have been filed and the stories that have already been confirmed. Mr. Simpson will serve a minimum of 10 years in state prison if he is convicted. Going by the statements that Mr. SImpson has already given, comments to the media and the investigation work completed, this is more than a slam dunk. There is a term called "being an accessory" and when it involves a gun and robbery, it doesn't matter who has the gun or who acted in what part, all parties are equally guilty. The 10 year minimum sentence will be served in the Nevada Department of Corrections and it could easily stretch into a longer term. I believe that there are 6 felony charges all together and if they wanted to impose the maximum, it could be much longer.

50. He will probably squirm out of this too. People aren't taking into consideration that he isn't the young football hero. He is a middle aged killer of his ex wife and Ron Goldman. He should have been convicted of the murders and be waiting in a cell for the needle. But as usual OJ thinks he can get away with anything because of the PAST FAME he used to have. Should have convicted him years ago!!!!!! He will probably get out of this mess in Vegas too.

53. # 48, Randolph,

thanks for your educated information. I hope your " slam dunk" comment comes to fruitation but when it comes to OJ.....slam dunks don't always prove true. One of the news commentators remarked that if they changed the venue to downtown LA...all of OJ "brothers" could set him free again. sadly that is no doubt true.

I smell another race card playing in the background. What is really surprising is that he hasn't been named in the "dogfighting" scandal...I would think that would be his style.

54. Two things oj never wanted to happen.
1. spend any amount of time in jail
2. never ever give the Goldmans a substantial amount of money
And both happened in a blink of an eye.
I never buy books, but I think I'll put in my $15.00 worth for "if I did it"
It's a blessing in disguise, to see him sit in jail, while paying off part
of his debt to the Goldmans.
What could possibly hurt him worse.

55. I want everyone right now to Google "Ron Goldman." The picture of the left is the reality of who this man is and what he did in 1994. If this arrest (and conviction) provides the families involved with some resolve, then I will watch this case closely. The pictures are not easy to look at, but they are the reality of the brutal murders he committed with a small souvenir knife. It turns my stomach to see this butcher treated like some kind of celebrity. He should be on death row.

56. AHHH! At last ....at last....the American people can smell the sweet scent of JUSTICE in the air instead of the stench of a sociopathic killer!

IT'S TIME TO WIPE THE SMIRK OFF YOUR FACE MR. OJ SIMPSON!

As soon as I hear what prison OJ will be spending the rest of his life in.. I will ship a few dozen truckloads of KY LUBRICANT to distribute to all his fellow prisoners so they can welcome him with open arms.

I hope they pump the living crap out of him 24 hours a day until his eyeballs explode.

It doesn't get any better than this ladies and gentlemen! What goes around comes around. The police have a solid case for a conviction with no wiggle room for his aquittal this time.

Al Capone killed several people but was never convicted of murder. Instead, he finally went to jail for life on a tax evading charge! I can't wait until AL SHARPTON, JESSE JACKSON, and the NAACP try to offer some support on national FOX NEWS and are all crusified by BILL O'RIELLY! This news has made me believe in justice again.

BEND OVER BABY! This won't hurt a bit! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

57. Talk about KARMA! He never was a team player ...

58. Mickey has a point. If OJ didn't do anything wrong, he needs to cooperate with the police before his friends do. Remember Ray Lewis. He's was so afraid that his friends would turn on him that he plead guilty.....then his friends were aquitted, so in the end Lewis is the only criminal in the group. If he really didn't know that his friends had guns, he needs to play this very carefully.
