Vegas Cops: The O.J. Details

The Las Vegas Metro Police Department issued the following press release about the arrest of O.J. Simpson:

On Thursday, September 13, 2007 at approximately 8 p.m. the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received a call of a robbery that had just occurred at 2411 W. Sahara Avenue.

Officers responded to that location and they were told that one of the suspects that was involved in the robbery was O. J. Simpson. Robbery Detectives responded to that location, and were informed by the victims that several individuals had come in contact with the victims and had taken sports memorabilia from the victims. According to the victims several firearms were used during the robbery. On Friday, September 14, 2007, detectives received an anonymous tip that a subject involved with the robbery would be at the airport. Detectives were able to confirm this information and on Saturday, September 15, 2007 , were able to contact an individual at the airport, who agreed to be interviewed. This person was identified as Walter Alexander, 46 years old of Mesa, AZ.

Walter Alexander was arrested for Conspiracy to Commit a Robbery, Robbery with Deadly Weapon (2 Counts), Assault with a Deadly Weapon (2 Counts) and Burglary with a Deadly Weapon. After interviewing Alexander, detectives obtained three search warrants. Detectives served those search warrants and recovered two firearms believed to be used in the commission of the armed robbery along with clothing and items reported stolen during the robbery. All of the information received was compiled and on Sunday, September 16, 2007 a decision was made that enough evidence was present to arrest Orenthal James Simpson. After consulting with the Clark County District Attorney, robbery detectives were sent to the hotel where Mr. Simpson was staying. At 11:05 a.m. Mr. Simpson was arrested and taken into custody without incident. He invoked his right to counsel and was transported to Metro's Robbery Section Office.

Mr. Simpson is being arrested for Robbery with a Deadly Weapon (2 Counts), Assault with a Deadly Weapon (2 Counts), Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, and burglary with a firearm. Mr. Simpson was transported to the Clark County Detention Center and booked on the above charges.

Michael McClinton (Black Male Adult) 49 years old, resident Las Vegas, NV.
Tom Scotto (White Male Adult) Unknown age & residence

61. Talk about a guy with a god complex. The way he boasts, he was bound to get popped sooner or later. Whats even better, although he said there was no gun, he confessed to taking the belongings. That alone would be good for a few counts of grand theft considering the value of the merchandise to potential collectors. Let's hope the LVPD doesn't screw up as bad as the LAPD so the inmates can have fresh squeezed OJ for the next twenty years.

62. When you try to take something that isn't yours and guns are involved that is called armed robbery. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out!!

63. Let us praise him?!?!? For what? Being an arrogant prick who thinks he's above the law?! Oh, yes - praise the murdering monster because he used to play football.. Puhleze - I guess we can see who's heads are stuck firmly up their own A$$Es....
The funny thing is this guy truly believes he's above the law... Do we really need this former football player/ very bad actor/ murderer as a role model...Anybody that has a kind word for this degenerate should really take a good look at themselves.. They are obviously failing this test of life....

64. I think O.J. Simpson should be put out of his misery. He killed his wife and her boyfriend 2 yrs ago, and got away with it. Now, he thinks he can get away with anything. You do the crime, you do the time. He should rot for the rest of his life. He is worthless, and should have gotten death penalty.

Have fun in prison OJ. May the next posse be mounting you in jail. I'd like to know what par is on that hole...................

68. I hope OJ gets convicted and has to spend years in prison for murder... oh I mean robbery and conspiracy. It doesn't matter if he held a gun or not, he was the ring leader. Just like Manson, he didn't kill anyone, but he told others what to do! FRY OJ!!!! Karma is a B*$ch!!!!!

I LOVE IT!!!!!

70. "OJ goes to see a memorabilia dealer who may have some things of his and some guys he hardly knows from a wedding he is attending comes along with him. Those guys pull guns, not OJ, and the cops are trying to get the guys with the gun to turn on OJ?"

So a person that hires a hit man to kill someone is not guilty in your eyes because they were not the one with a gun? OJ took them there and was involved in the robbery. Nowhere in the audio tape do you hear OJ saying "Put the gun away." He knew what was going on!

And guys OJ hardly knows from a wedding? He is golfing buddies with 2 of them!!

Wow! Education in schools these days are really in trouble!

71. I'm probably in the minority here, but I do believe that this case should be based on this case alone. We can't start to get Gustapo/Kangaroo with our justice system. We should look at that fact that:

1. The meeting was recorded by the very same guy who told OJ that the collectible items were there.

2. That he is being held without bail and that others have been released.

It's dangerous to be in a position to ignore the details of a crime and/or situation and not analyze whether something is worth pursuing, as a true crime of intent.
