Barry to Elisabeth: Your "View" is Dangerous

UPDATE: A source tells TMZ that it's not Barry who's writing this song -- in fact, "View" producers pulled the plug on Manilow's performance when his people demanded that he appear on the show without Elisabeth. Manilow has in fact performed on the show twice before -- both last year -- when Hasselbeck's been co-hosting.

TMZ has learned that legendary singer Barry Manilow has pulled out of his scheduled appearance on "The View" tomorrow -- because he strongly disagrees with host Elisabeth Hasselbeck's conservative view! Paging Rosie O'Donnell!

In an exclusive statement to TMZ, Barry says, "I strongly disagree with her views. I think she's dangerous and offensive. I will not be on the same stage as her." Barry, taking a stand!

Manilow is currently on a press tour promoting the release of his new album, "Greatest Songs of the Seventies."

A network spokesman had no comment.

124. What is it that Liberals fear about facing conservatives? It happened with dem canidates boycotting Fox and now this. I don't see how they ever hope to grow in numbers if they fear debate. Imagine them on the world stage trying to stand up to some tyrant. "We won't talk to you" Perhaps it is because they can not defend their ideas in a convincing manner?

I wish more celebs who are sick and tired of turning a deaf ear to the lies and rhetoric that misinformed bimbo spews would stand up for their beliefs and do the same!!
It's gone so far past "political debate" on that show - she uses The View for nothing more than her own Christian Conservative soap box. She NEVER looks at the other side of a debate, it always becomes an argument, and the condescending way she looks down on other people's beliefs and opinions is shameful. Her unwavering support of this war and the current administration is embarrassing!

opening of an envelope!!
i see him every freakin day on ET....he never says anything of import and
he hasent had a hit record in ??? yrs...!
Elisabeth is a bit full of herself, and she'll probably be surprised to find
out how much she didnt know 10 yrs from now, looking back..But what
exactly did you expect when Barbara hired her? The show needed contrast...and she's young, full of herself, and opinionated.
And did anyone really set their TIVO not to miss another Barry M.appearance? please.
