Cops: Case Closed on K-Fed Death Threat

k-fedTMZ has learned that reports of an FBI investigation into a plot to kill Kevin Ferderline are completely untrue -- however, an LAPD investigation was conducted in the past.

According to LAPD, the department opened an investigation into a threat on Federline's life nearly two months ago, but the case was closed due to insufficient evidence.

TMZ also spoke with the L.A. spokesperson for the FBI, who blasted reports claiming that the the FBI ever confirmed anything about a K-Fed investigation saying, "The information on the Internet on these reports is not accurate. It did not come from the FBI at all."

Uhh....TMZ didn't "make it up"; they quoted the FBI as a source instead of the LAPD -- it wasn't found to be untrue; there was insufficient evidence; K-Fed didn't make it up either; the LAPD told him about the plot themselves... As to who reported it and whether it was true or not...that is all open for debate, but I doubt any of ya have any proof whatsover one way or the other... but it sure the heck makes a lot of sense why K-Fed is down on Brit and determined to get his kids away from her!!!!!!!!!! And yes, it's sad that anyone could make K-Fed appear rational and a better choice for custody!!!!!!1

51. Miss Myers, dumbass, YOU need to reread the quote from the FBI, NOT TMZ's. Here I'll quote it FOR you.

"The information on the Internet on these reports is not accurate. It did not come from the FBI at all."

They are denying the validity of the "information", NOT the "investigation".

This means they neither confirm nor deny an investigation (as is their policy), they simply deny two (2) things, - the "information" (as given on the internet), and their "confirmation" of it. As I already stated, it's their POLICY to neither confirm nor deny. Which is exactly what they did in regards to whether there IS (or not) an actual investigation. What's so hard to understand?

59. By the FBI's statement, you can't tell whether there IS or IS NOT an investigation. If you take their statement (without trying to read anything INTO it), they merely denied being the ones who the information came from. REALLY a slick way of saying NOTHING.
