Cops: Case Closed on K-Fed Death Threat

k-fedTMZ has learned that reports of an FBI investigation into a plot to kill Kevin Ferderline are completely untrue -- however, an LAPD investigation was conducted in the past.

According to LAPD, the department opened an investigation into a threat on Federline's life nearly two months ago, but the case was closed due to insufficient evidence.

TMZ also spoke with the L.A. spokesperson for the FBI, who blasted reports claiming that the the FBI ever confirmed anything about a K-Fed investigation saying, "The information on the Internet on these reports is not accurate. It did not come from the FBI at all."

61. The whole situation with Britney and Kevin is just sad. I just dont understand how in the heck Kevin is all the sudden the better parent? I mean where in the hell would Kevin Federline be right now without Britneys money? Living on the street! Its not like he has any kind of career , or even works on a daily basis......... unless you consider club hopping a job. cus he parties as much as she does!!!!!!!!! I hope and pray that Brit gets herself together for her sake and for the childrens sake. Everyone makes mistakes.......

62. what you are saying better NOT be true. LAPD and the FBI are NOT allowed to comment on death threats, validate or decline validation. ALL they can say is "this is not a matter we are investigating" or "we have turned this over to other authorities" or "no comment".

If they were to go out on a limb for YOU or anyone else, and KFED was killed or it was attempted in any real way, both organizations would be liable for failure to acknowledge a credible threat. AND ANY lawyer would take the case pro bono since it is a guarantee financial windfall for the Federline family. Too easy to win on this kind of foul up.

The only alternative is that FBI and LAPD are now using the media to smoke out the offender by denying the credibility. Either way, check your facts before you report on something being bogus. You may have just become a part of an active investigation without even realizing it.

64. The FBI stated their response very well. They have important things to do that don't include wasting their time with this degenerate lowlife blood-sucking weasel.

66. YOU'RE RIGHT!!! Here it is:

"...the L.A. spokesperson for the FBI, who blasted reports claiming that the the FBI ever confirmed anything about a K-Fed investigation..."

And, neither confirming or denying info about investigations IS their policy. It looks like they've done this a FEW times.

67. It wouldn't be the FBI conducting a local investigation in the first place....it would be the LAPD, or where ever that loser K-fed is living on Britney's spousal support.

68. Yeah, they did leave a truck-sized hole in their statement. I'd like them to actually make a statement where they "SAY" that there is (or is NOT) an investigation. But , as someone else said, - they won't.

70. "perceptive", you're "ASSUMING" things that are jurisdictionally untrue and/or trying to indicate personal knowledge (which you DON'T have).

74. Yep, that's true. The FBI is pulled into any murder-for-hire investigations and then proceed with, but seperate from, the local law enforcement. One can drop an investigation while the oyther still pursues it.
