Celebrity Justice
Judge to Brit -- You Got Substance Abuse Problems

The judge in the Britney Spears custody battle found that "there is a habitual, frequent, and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol by (Britney)." The judge has ordered Britney "to undergo testing for the use of controlled substances and alcohol." Testing will be conducted randomly twice a week.

According to judge's order, no changes were made yesterday in the custody arrangement. As we first reported, custody is split 50/50 between Britney and K-Fed. He wants to change it to 70/30 in his favor.

The documents underscore the bitterness in the custody battle. Judge Scott Gordon ruled that "Each party is restrained from making derogatory remarks about the other party and the other party's family or significant other..."

The judge also prohibits Brit and K-Fed from "using corporal punishment with the minor children and from allowing anyone else to do so."

The judge also ordered the battling parents "to engage in joint co-parenting counseling." The order continues, "Each party is ordered to complete the PARENTING WITHOUT CONFLICT program."

The judge went on, "Neither party shall consume alcohol, or other non-prescription controlled substance during or for the 12 hours immediately preceding any period such party is responsible for the health and safety of the minor children."

76. Britney may very well lose her mind if she loses her kids, but will it be because she is lost without them, or because she is free of them? The girls got real problems.

77. F**** that judge...if the kids need a lil bit of corproal spanking...they need it...

78. You know what. The public has made her this way. It kinda makes me sick what all of this fame is doing to her. But give the girl a little bit of f-in slack. You know ya'll loved her at one point or another. Personally I never really liked her music. But as someone who knows what it is like to hit rock bottom and have to come back up. I know she will put her kids first. I believe that she wont pick up a drink. It is a mothers instinct. How would you feel if everyone was so critical of you ALLLLLLLLLLLLLL the time? Lay off of her.

79. I think this was a good judgement. K-Fed will have full custody within 2 weeks! Brit doesn't like being told what to do and won't follow directives, She'll be drunk within 48 hours! BUT, if she really doesn't want to lose those kids, this is her chance to prove it.

81. The judge is being unfair to Britney. She is over 21 and she can do all the drugs and alcohol she can afford to buy. The judge can just get over it!!!!!!

82. Never was it said neither parent was hitting the kids
If you have ever been in a bitter custody battle, you have no idea what can and will be ordered

83. Britney is dumb if she knows the courts and her loser ex aren't watching her every move. But it doesn't stop her from screwing up at every turn. If she knows that she could lose her kids from her behavior, maybe she shouldn't be out without panties, partying for nights on end, being XXXEEE on her big debut on the MTV awards. Maybe she should try to show the paps and public that she cares about her kids more than partying and having a good time. I'm not saying Kevin is a saint because he sure isn't, but he's not out 5 or 6 nights a week at clubs. Britney should take those kids and disappear somewhere for a long time and just stay home with them if that's what she wants to do (she did want to be a young mom). Too bad if she found out it's harder than she thought. I had my daughter at 18 and I missed out on a lot of fun times but she turned out to be a responsible adult and a great mom of my 4 year old granddaughter. We'll see if she can do what the judge ordered. If she's worried about K-Fed doing drugs too she should insist on him being tested also.

84. I thought these court files were going to be...unavailable to the public. I should have realized someone was going to out Brit.

Why is the judge just testing her? That bum is in LV every other weekend, smoking his weed, doing whatever.

I don't know Brit, but I'm still rooting for you. I'm truly hoping you can pull it together, you have a lot to lose if you don't.

Stand strong little lady.

85. Some celebs believe bad publicity is better then none, brittney is trying desperatly to be a madonna wannabe in order to shed her teen idol fame,Good luck Brit, you have some very big shoes to fill!

86. it sounds like someone has been dishing out corporal punishment which is pretty bad. i wonder who it was. i'm pretty sure it wasn't the grandparents, so maybe one of brittney's manny's had a hard hand. i hope it wasn't kevin or brit--i don't think either one of them would do that.
but the drug allegations from the judge sound pretty serious

87. i'm glad to see that the Judge is at least just going to do something to clear up this mess. he seems reasonable and fair. this is pretty standard stuff when it comes to parents accusing each other of things, and pointing fingers in a custody battle, so don't read too much into it.l if she was my client like i said yesterday, i would have her undergo testing too, it's all in her hands now - this will prove if she really is the trainwreck the media portrays as her, but i really don't think she is..

as for Allred, the Judge did the absolute right thing - he accepted the bodyguard's statement, b/c if he didn't Allred would have been all over it and made it a bigger deal. he accepted it, her lawyers and the court had no questions, so thankfully all her media hype ended at her press conference (which was ridiculous, by the way).

they did agree to let out some information, but most of it has been redacted, such as vehicle the kids will be driven in, how they go from one place to another, their schedule, etc.

so we should just really sit and wait and see what happens now instead of passing judgement

88. If Britney is such a bad parent then why did Kevin want to give her the kinds 30% of the time? Can she only be a responsible parent 30% of the time? It's obvious that he only wanted more money since he wanted to keep the kids longer. But everyone focuses on Britney's bad points. What bout K-Fed's? No one loves those kids, except Brit's parents...

89. What about him? He has a lot of things going on too...but he just isn't in the same "fame" light as she is. Besides, we all know the reputation it's okay for men/father's/husbands to drink, party whatever but it doesn't look good (and much less socially acceptable) if it's woman/wife/mom. If the custody is 50-50...he should have to do the same!

90. 74. Lawd i hate stupid people
The Judge didnt accuse Britney of Hitting her kids. He said NO ONE. meaning anyone who is around the kids. that could mean SHAR, Britneys parents. anyone,

Posted at 7:32PM on Sep 18th 2007 by Easy words to say
