(Page 4 of 4) Previous 15 Comments46. Listen to all of you. You would think OJ is the first celeb to beat the system. If he were a POOR black man, he would have been convicted over ten years ago. In fact, it's not the color of his skin, it's the balance in his bank account that really matters.

47. Whether OJ murdered or not years ago is irrelevant. As far as this being a "set up", the law states that "creating an opportunity for one predisposed to commit the crime does not constitute entrapment". If I leave a wallet full of cash on a park bench and watch you from a distance pick it up, take the cash out and toss the wallet, your still guilty of theft, so OJ cannot and will not dodge this charge. Common cents folks...when you arrange a group of armed or unarmed men to enter someones place and use force or fear to take articles in their possession, even if you own what you take legally, you are guilty of several felonies...OJ is responsible for the conduct of the team he took to the party. One more interesting twist...if the gent who is now in critical condition from a heart attach after the incident dies, OJ and every member of his team will face capital murder charges worst case, manslaughter best case...all they need to prove is that the heart attack was triggered by the traume of being at gun point or even being threatened and bingo, Many years in a 5 x 9.
The bottom line is no citizen has the right to assemble a gang, armed or not, to storm a residence to take property that belongs to whomever. Add the weapons and your going down for sure, It doesn't matter if OJ new of the weapons or not since during the episode he never told them to put those damn guns away, making him as guilty as the morons that brought the guns. At the end of the day you have a bunch of middle aged men playing out some bizzare commando or Soprano's fantasy in recovering OJ's property and now the reality of the stupidity, and felonious legal consequences due to their actions have come to rest.
OJ and the rest of his team will find half the charges dropped, but will, at the minimum get 10 years, even if it's a first offense, which is probably the case for most of them.
All the racial overtones are predictable but will have no bearing on the fact that OJ is a grown man who knowingly took a group of men (if he knew they were armed or not) into someones domicile to forceably take possession of articles through the use of force and fear...he could have handled it a hundred different ways, he could have ordered the men with guns to put them away and leave the room, he could have walked out the minute a gun was brandished or threat was made and he would be innocent...but he didn't and this is one fact the best lawyers in the world cannot beat.
You do the crime, you do the time. If you really care about OJ you'll send him soap on a rope and good, long book. The trial will be a media circus, cries of "the white man setting him up" will abound, we'll all be bored after being force fed the multi'million extravaganza, paid for by you and me, but he will get hard time. The real question is will he be sentenced to a low vs medium security prison...soft time vs hard time, soft time being at least you get a reach around as your bent over, Only time will tell.

48. Yes, this was a set up- but no one tricked OJ into committing a robbery. Probably after a dispute about the split of the profits, the plan was to record what happened when OJ showed up to take possession of goods that he had arranged for one of his cronies to sell on his behalf. Don't forget that any profits OJ made from selling this stuff would have to be turned over to the Goldman's because of the civil judgment, so he has to keep it hidden from the court. Instead of getting a recording about the crooked deal, OJ showed up with a few of his thug friends and decided to take the stuff back along with a few extra items. It explains why everyone seems to know each other, why the guy being robbed keeps referring to "Mike", and why the guys only state at the end of the conversation that they were "robbed by OJ"- because they realized OJ took more than his own stuff. Sleazy people robbed by another group of sleazy people...
PS To all of the OJ defenders: Being found "not guilty" in a criminal trial does not mean someone is innocent, it means the legal case against him wasn't successful. There are plenty of reasons why that can happen besides "innocence". OJ was found "guilty" by a civil jury and legally owes the families $32+ million for killing Nicole and Ron-- it still makes him a murderer.

49. #39 you're right they're all a bunch of crooks, especially OJ! The Goldman's are in the right and don't want OJ to go on making money while the jerk owes them $32+ million. If that's the only way they can punish him for killing their son-- more power to them! Why should he go on living the high life and running around partying while he's scamming the courts by hiding his income (from selling this memorabilia in some crooked deal with these jerks), while he still owes them millions of dollars? He tried it with the sale of his sick book and that's he was doing here. They should hound him until he pays them or until he's dead... that's the way the law works.

50. Anyone ever see to catch a predator on Dateline? Well you are all crying setup - guess what the guys who do the crime regardless of if it was taped or not get charged. Just like OJ. He wasn't setup at all. He made a deal to go there and get his stuff back - he went overboard and brought thugs with guns and forced people to stay in the room. He is guilty of whatever charges that brings. As for the guy who taped the events - he had a past with jail time for stolen goods so he covered himself incase he came under fire by taping things - smart move because not only is it covering him and backing up his story but since OJ and his boys took things further than what was planned he is safe on those things and made some cash off of it in the process - morally wrong yes - making OJ innocent of the charges by insinuating a setup - no.

51. You know after listening to the tape, and the story.his trouble with the law in the past has nothing to do with this case.it will only be his defense he was set up.oj should have realized you can't take matters into your own hands,so they chose to act like thugs and retrieve it themselves, which shows this man truly thinks he is above the law.his statement the police never work out for me is bull,to me if he truly had a good case of being ripped off he shoul have went to the police and had them accompany him to get the items back.however it does not matter what was tape recorded because it showed his true personality something that was hidden in the past...he should have never been there in the first place.

52. OJ was guilty for the double homocides of 1994 and he's guilty now. Dumb people (those with no common sense) do DUMB things AND THIS IS JUST ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF THAT.
To reflect back to 1994 for a moment and OJ's so called "innocence" - the Goldman family as well as the Browns suffered from the terrible loss of Ron and Nicole and has received nothing in the way of closure. The law has left them with only ONE recourse and that is to "keep OJ from making money", not to MAKE money from him. Money will NEVER heal their pain. Don't you think the Goldmans AND the Browns uncovered every ROCK, every stone to try and find the REAL killer? Are people so stupid to think that just because a person is found NOT guilty they're INNOCENT?
Read the book "Running for His Life", written by an atty who sat on the sidelines through the entire trial. There's information in there that Judge "Retard" Ito did not allow into evidence, i.e., the two women who almost collided with OJ the night of the murders at approx. 10:15 p.m. (while the chaufeur was waiting for him at his house) The women said OJ was screaming at them "Get that f____g car out of the way,". He was in a panic rushing to get back to his house to be picked up only to sneak in unsuspected; so he thought. (Remember, the chaufeur testified he saw a tall, well built man in dark clothng scurry across the lawn in the shadows, only to have OJ answer the door a few minutes later, claiming he was in the shower and didn't hear the bell...yeh, right!!!) That evidence never was allowed...why?
Read the book and then all you morons who want to believe the MEDIA's every word, will truly be INFORMED! Or maybe you CAN'T read and only have EARS to listen to all the garbage the MEDIA wants you to HEAR. It's so disgusting how MONEY can buy FREEDOM for the wealthy including celebrities. Let's see how OJ's "celebrity status" will help him now!!! Hang him and hang him HIGH! Take a life - then yours will also be taken (it's in the Bible....READ IT!

53. the facts speak for themselves. OJ is a sociopath, who has played fast and loose with the law, skirting the fringes and evading responsibility in countless ways. OJ in no way represents the black community who have truthfully been maligned in the american justice system. OJ has too much money and power to represent. He is essentially a white man, one of the boys club. When he got off the double murder charge, his delusions of being above the law were fueled further.
the way he behaved in this incident shows how he views himself entitled to do things however he wants. He excuses himself by saying,"those were my things." what would a normal, civilized person do in that situation? what is the lawful thing to do? call the police and make a report. why didn't he do that? oh, because then there would be a record that he had that stuff. and what is the problem with that? because "his stuff" belongs to the goldmans and the browns, per the judgment they received years ago that found OJ responsible for a double murder in a civil court.
it does not matter if he was set up. if he was, that is what he gets for playing with those sorts of people. the very people who helped him set up off shore accounts to evade the judgment against him by the brown and goldman families. you lay down with dogs....
what he is really lamenting right now is that for once, someone got the better of him, because someone taped this one. and even if the tapes were altered, as has been alleged, to delete certain things, OJ's voice is heard loud and clear. video tapes of the hotel show him and his gang storming into the placed and leaving with boxes. guns were visible. is this a sight any of us would welcome in our hotel rooms?
how would you like it if your family member were the one he murdered years ago? murdered. in cold blood. and how would you like it if it were your parent sitting in the ICU at Cedar's Sinai now, because some sociopath who got off years ago thought it was alright to get "his stuff back" (like a petulant child) by use of deadly force? how would you like to have a gun held to your temple? do you think he was "set up" to participate in that?
none of these people seem like the kinds of folks you'd want to have over for dinner. but then, that doesn't make it alright for OJ to threaten them with a deadly weapon. stop blaming the victims just because he got caught on tape. the facts speak for themselves. opinions are like, well, you know. whereas facts are facts. OJ is a criminal. always has been and always will be. He shows no remorse for his actions, but instead wears that disturbing grin that he had at the trial and on TV when he referred to his slaughtered ex-wife and mother of his children as a "whore". he is sick and the faster he is put behind bars, the better off this country will be. He needs to be held accountable for his actions for once.

54. The more information that comes out, it does seem like a set up. I have no sympathy for O.J. and I hope the Goldman's would just drop off the face of the earth!

55. The newest trend:
Real Celebrity Radio
I just hope the acting gets better the next time around

56. It doesn't matter at all if this was a setup or not.....you still cannot force your way into a hotel room with a gun and take property.

57. Hey OJ, I'm kind of disappointed that there was no Bronco touring Las Vegas Blvd. before you went into custody. Even if you didn't bother with pointing a gun to your own head this time, I still think you should have made that victory lap.
Not doing it could be a bad omen.
Let's face it there Juice, it worked out good for you in the murder trial. In fact, it worked so good for you, that Michael Jackson followed your lead and went for a tour of the strip on his last little boy problem and guess what, it worked like a charm and Michael is still a free man! Well maybe not a man in the literal sense, but the point is he was found not guilty!
So I'm really concerned about the fact that you decided to deal with this one quietly OJ, without all the brain dead groupies cheering for you in the streets... You did that in the civil trial with Goldman and you know where that got you,,,,
Then we have to remember that Johnny C. is six feet under, feeding the worms,,,,
and as far as your new attorney asking the judge to release you on your own recognizance, are you sure this guy's a attorney? Because he sounds like a freekin comedian.
So OJ, I thought you should know, I'm getting a bad feeling about this one,,,,,,,,,,

59. I so wish people would get off on O.J. murdering Nicole & Ron. True, what happened to them was horrific, but of all the millions, billions even, of people who live & swear that O.J. murdered Nicole & Ron, I have a question: why weren't you called as a witness if you know that O.J. is guilty of this crime?
The only people who know what happened are/were the people who were there! We know for a fact that two of these people are dead, so for all of the rest of the world's population: your opinions are yours but as far as anyone could prove, O.J. proved himself and was acquitted. Then to have the dual standards of the legal system to have him found guilty under civil non-legalities, well: if one cannot even sit under a tree (Jena, LA) then what else could be expected?
As for this latest romp, O.J. should be locked up for stupidity! It doesn't matter what his intent was, what he did, what he didn't do, what matters is that he put himself in the lion's den by taking matters into his own hands, considering the tarnished opinions people have of him today. So, no doubt (for those who'd swear their last breath that he's guilty of the aforementioned), get ready to exhale - he will be found culpable, not necessarily guilty, of the events that took place.
Oh, have we forgotten those 3 white males that chained a mentally challenged black male to their pick-up, drug him over 5 miles, flesh being ripped off nearly half his body and his only salvation was being decapitated due to being slung (while still chained) in a ditch and striking a culvert? Hmm...wonder why there wasn't such a brutal outcry of savagery against humanity when this happened...hmm: maybe you should continue to hold your breath and go marinate on that!

60. #15.......w0w. You are right on the money and I'm so glad I looked back to read all the comments and found yours. You are thinking the same way a lot of us have since the murders. I say, if you planned a murder is SUCH detail as they say OJ did, then you would not have made the careless mistak of dropping one glove at the murder scene and one in your back yard!!! Do some of you others REALLY believe that????????? I mean, c'mon, it's common sense for Petes-Sake! Hell, even if I didn't plan a murder so detailed I would not have been such an idiot to drop gloves like that. That SCREAMS set-up, tampering, entrapment..... Some of you guys REALLY need to buy a vowel and get your head outta your ass!
