There are so many different ways this could be spun at this time that none of here can say "beyond a reasonable doubt" that O.J. is guilty this time. It really doesn't make sense to try and predict before all of the facts are in. Do I like O.J.? Don't really care one way or the other, but I do want him to get a fair trial. The media attention that this is getting (including me writing this blog) is only going to decrease the chances that he will get a fair trial.
If this were some Joe Schmuck off of the street doing the same thing, would we have heard about it? I doubt it! Come on folks, this is NOT news, what's happening in Iraq is news, what's happening in Congress is news. That's what we ought to be talking about, not another celebrity getting busted for being stupid.

47. Very nicely articulated argument Joe. I haven't made up my mind yet about what really went down in that room, but you make some very interesting points.

48. OJ OJ OJ OJ OJ,
This does not look good for the Brotha, knowing he had that book out and the Haters were gonna be looking for some way to take him down and what does OJ do? Give them a damn good reason and way to take him down. Noi excuses OJ you should be somewhere hiding from the crap not right smack dab in the middle of it. If they got him this time guilty or not he should not have been in that crap. Next time use the cops for what they are worth and thats at leases a gun and a badge. If he clears this one OJ get out of America and then brag about how banana peel slick you are! What are you CRAZY! THEY ARE OUT TO GET YOU BY ANY MEANS NECCESARY!

49. This piece of crap murdered his wife and another man, got away with it, and now he thinks he can do whatever he wants. You can slice and dice this all you want. There WAS a gun, and that makes it armed robbery.
The guy's no hero to the black community. Stop treating him like one.

50. What happened to our country's standard, innocent until PROVEN guilty? All the facts are not in and therefore no one is equipped to make a decision at this time. The police believe they they have sufficient evidence to get a conviction, but I'm sure there is still much they do not yet know, and we know even less than they do, because there's probably evidence they have that they have not yet revealed. Let's hold up our great constitution and see OJ and others as accused ...innocent until proven guilty. S.

51. I feel OJ was set up. Of course they have wanted him from the gate and most people whom had something stolen from them of any significants would want it back and most of us blacks would go get it. It dosent matter who had rights to it it orininally belonged to OJ thats whom it was stolen from. Im sure most of the people invovled knew his passion for the stuff which made great oppurtunity too set him up. Next they will all be willing to testify agaisnt him they will all get off and he will be facing alot of time for bull. That the revenge from the past.

52. OJ IS RESPONSIBLE for the choice he made to enter that hotel. Given his high profile. He put himself in this mess.

53. So, because he is "O.J." because he is black he is above the law??? Think about it--what if it was you or I or someone you loved, think they would get off with murder or robbery???? NO!!!! what goes around comes around. You can not just go "take" what may or may not be yours. He is a human just like anyone of us, not better then us. So is he wrong??? There is a right and a wrong way to do things, you think he would have learned that by now....

54. O.J. Will Walk Again..... This Time He Should!!!!!!
If you record someone without them knowing it is,nt that against the law?
if you have or sell stolen sports memobilla is,nt that against the law?
Did he know those other guys had guns?
Also I remember the big stink Fred Goldman had when O.J . team announced the book
and movie/tv deal know FRED GOLDDIGGER has pub rights he,s going to profit on something he call dispickable and immoral I would have respected him I he had a burn book party.
I may be one of the few americans that think he didnt kill his wife AND Ron......but it seems like white
america wont mind if he gets life in jail for these RIDCULUS CHARGES.

55. I would like to hear the entire tape before I am satisfied about the situation.
As the rest of the world, I do remember the moment this guy was found not guilty years ago over the murder of his wife and other guy. I did'nt care much for O.J. or his problems at the time and yet I somewhat feel the same today.
My only issue is:
Why is it that everytime I see or hear anything about him, it's all about a murder that was beaten years ago. I understand that we "SAY" it's not a race issue, but a justice issue.
If it is all about justice, then why don't you people believe in your own system?
EXACTLY!! In the murder trial, O.J was 99.9% guilty until rumors began to surface about a possible civil riot and the courts could not funtion correctly afterwards..
At the time, I was living in Milw., Wi. and I don't believe that anyone cared about the entire case other than the fact that it was good entertainment ( Suppose that's why Marcia Clarke & E.T. came out of the woodworks today in Vegas). Call it what you want, but I'm the truth and here's how I see it. It's about Pride..White Pride...and a Blackman went free. I have love for my country, but despise many of my countrymen...If I don't get to see my comment posted, I'll enjoy the fact fact that I touched a nerve and the "TRUTH" hurts.

56. OJ should have used his common sense and left the Ganster moves to Hollywood. He will be forced to take responsibilty for his actions by the court of law. He had a choice. Setup or not.

57. OJ is in some real trouble here. If that is his voice, then I think he's done.
It doesn't matter who has title to the property. If it was stolen from him, he is not legally entitled to recover it in this manner. In other words, having valid title to the property in question is not a valid defense to robbery charges. The victims had clear possession of the property and OJ and his friends used force to take it away from them.
Based on the tape, it is clear that OJ is shouting orders that are backed up by weapons. He can argue that he didn't know the other guys are armed, but based on what I hear on the tape, no reasonable jury will buy the idea of "I didn't know the other guys with me were armed". Therefore, the crime is clearly armed robbery. The fact that OJ was not himself holding a gun is irrelevant as long as he was participating in a robbery where he was using the threat of the guns others with him were holding to take property away from others.
OJ is not going to get away this time. Johnny Cochrane is no longer with us, but even he would have had a tough time getting past a tape of OJ telling people to get up against the wall and a whole lineup of witnesses that will end up testifying against him including living victims and co-conspirators. Sloppy police work, racist cops, and incompetent prosecutors will presumably not be involved this time either.
OJ's problems (including the 1994 murders) stem from cocaine addiction and the paranoia and delusions that accompany it. In interviews since the murders in 1994, you can see that OJ has changed drastically from the person who used to be a sports reporter on TV. His life has just gradually spiralled downward over the years, and now after beating the rap in the trial of the century, he'll end up being convicted in a pretty clear-cut armed robbery charge and put in prison for at least 5 years if not more. He won't be there forever though, and eventually he'll get out and his money will be gone and he'll just be a pathetic old man with some interesting stories to tell. If he's honest, he'll admit that cocaine was his downfall.
So what should OJ's lawyers do? If they want to make money, they'll milk the case for all its worth and write a book after its over. If they want to do what's best for OJ, they'll try to get him to plea bargain as quickly as possible. It would be anticlimactic after the classic murder trial that filled thousands of hours of television coverage, but it's really the only reasonable option at this point. One way or another, OJ will be in prison and a lot of people will write books about it and try to cash in on the situation.

58. I'm with you Joe Johnson! In fact there are millions who are with you Joe Johnson! Lack of evidence always speaks for itself in any case. And that is why, hopefully, we have an unbiased jury in our judicial system. The millions understand manipulation of happenings to fit the crime and we have all experienced it. Be it through the unjust experiences of family members or friends who have had and will continue to have these lifelong experiences to satisfy the needs of the mobs who want to avenge merely for the sake of avenging! I'm just glad we're not living in the days of frenzied mobs gathering up the posse for a good ole hanging! Or are we?

59. OJ's toned down demeanor tells the world that he knows he's in big trouble this time. No talking, no smiling, nothing.
