47. What a beautiful baby girl. We want to know her name. Looks like Zahara is going to have some competion,lol. I think it is fantastic that these otherwise proverished children are being adopted. Not as much red tape in the USA and not so strict if adopting as a single parent. Someone did mention "why don't they adopt Mexician Children". Good point. In the states "blue eyed blond hair " was once the first choice. Then the first to get adopted outside the U.S. was Chinese children. Maybe if a "celeb" adopts a Mexican child it will be the next trend/fad. Mary Louise congrats and enjoy your new gift.

49. Calm down people. I know it's a baby but this one is not going to be beautiful. She may be slim and tall but not beautiful. She's cute in the sense that all babies are "cute" but she isn't going to be on the runway in 18 years.

54. Honestly, I don't think she cares what the baby looks like. She just wants the publicity. Obviously, Weeds isn't doing well. She tried being nude and no one cared. She's adopted a baby...the verdict will be issued later.

This is basically the difference between men and women. Women just grab what they can and deal with the problems later. Men think more and do less.

She'll probably discard the child later but if she is able to get more work and money for 10 more years what's the big deal. My only question is...didn't she just have a kid? Why would you want another. Her nanny must be working overtime. Look a whole ecosystem around MLP growing like Weeds :-)

57. #77 I can attest to that. Hard to be black and be able to identify with a black doll (back in the day) when everything in print and on tv was white. They just wanted to fit in. I can say though that I am 40 and my daughters did get both the black and white dolls growing up. They (their dolls) all got the same attention. I just hate that the most popular black shows on tv expose blacks in the most negative way/manner. But an uneducated/ignorat person is going to be the one to belive what they see.

I'm saying the African culture is not worse than our own. So many think that America is better because it is wealthier. The African culture also has great value and denying this child the opportunity to grow up in her own land among those who share that culture is wrong. Just because she will be wealthier here does not mean she will be happier. Many people believe that culture and heritage other than our own is worthless. I think that is the real racism.

60. Pitiful, Nicely stated. I will add though. The parents adopting these kids from other countries. Are they going to incorporate their rearing to include the culture of the child? Hope when the kid gets older and goes through the "attitude stage" the adoptive parent does not say "I saved your ass from a life of proverty and possible early death". You know, how our moms remind us that "she was in labor for 36 hours" As though we will always be in her debt. Nothing wrong with having a "rainbow" of kids in the household. Just remember to teach them their roots.
