I think that adoption is beautiful because these children need loving homes, but it is absolutely disgusting and sad how these celebrity's are using these already exploited African children as accessories, no one was doing it before Angelina Jolie who absolutely loves children of all country's, bur now all these other celebrity's are just jumping on the bandwagon, I am not racist but why do white celebritys have to adopt only African baby's? why not a caucasian or Indian Baby? It's like they are saying "Hey look at my new black baby!" like that makes them look more "wordly", I just hope they can teach these children about where they come from and who they are......Very disturbing.

63. I love how people always complain about celebrities not adopting American children. First, that is not true, most Americans do adopt children from the USA (Sharon Stone has adopted three, Michelle Pfeiffer (1), Calista Flockhart, etc, etc. Second, if you are so concerned about the situation, why don't you adopt American children.

64. TMZ you're kidding right? I mean you don't actually think a human being is an accessory, do you? I mean you don't actually think a baby is an object do you? Have you lost your bearing? I think you could have made the point better, than to refer to a child as a "Third World accessory". Sounds pretty insensitive. Like Isaiah Washington saying it's okay for black men to call black women bitches but not white men. TMZ don't slip the racism in. Yes, I agree with you it is becoming trendy for white Hollywood to adopt children from Africa. But, white American's have always been adopting kids from foreign lands. Especially the upper class. I wouldn't even know how to adopt a kid from a foreign country. And I certainly couldn't afford to fly over to see these kids in their homelands before adoption. This is expensive. I'm all for it. I certainly don't believe these children will be used and abused. I think they will be loved and adored. Stop hating!

65. Don't blame TMZ, it's these "stars" using adopted babies as assessories! Mary Louise just had a baby, you'd think she would be very busy with a new baby, but she goes and adopts right after giving birth? Seems like she would wait a while, that's all. This adopting thing is getting to be a fad with the celebrities, but I guess the apopted kids are better off even if it is a fad and all these celebs are trying to outdo each other. First it was the purse-sized dogs, now it's adopted third world country babies. Can't wait to see what - or who! - is next!

68. And whoever the Hell said something about white's wrinkling. As long as trees, hats, indoor jobs, and even some cosmetics exist. Also there's a nice little invention out there that I guess black people have never heard of called sunscreen. As long as those things exist white people will actually wrinkle slower than a black. And in Thailand they walk around in umbrellas and cover their skin because white skin is the fad over there.

70. Seriously people, I can't believe all the "this kid is ugly" comments.

As #53 stated, the reason many celebs do foreign adoptions is to decrease the likelihood the natural parent(s) will change their mind once they find out a celebrity adopted their child, and try to get some money out of the deal or take the child back or insist on visitation, whatever. Celebs have enough stalkers, the last thing they need is a stalker who wants their previously unwanted baby back. Madonna is the only celeb we've heard of who has had that problem with a foreign adoption (not the stalker part, just the wait-I-maybe-changed-my-mind part).

And to those of you who think she did it all for publicity: 1) It's not like she paraded the kid up and down the red carpet at the Emmy's, and 2) is she supposed to cover the kid's head with a blanket to keep photographers from getting pics of them together? Photographers don't actually need her permission to take photos in public places, and you can tell by the expression on her face that she wasn't entirely thrilled the photog was there. If she does some fancy photo shoot for Vanity Fair or People, making a good ol' chunk of change, then I'd change my mind about her taking advantage of the situation. But dude, back up off it.

71. We all know that you white folks would not be on her complaining if the baby was a white African (yes dummies there are white people who are from Africa) or if the baby was white period. When those countless number of celebrities adopted children from other countries that weren't black, you all weren't complaining about them not being American...so get over it!!!

72. Every 7 years or so, wealthy Americans pick a new “in” country for international adoption. It used to be the Russian babies, then the Chinese, at one point Guatemala snuck in there (but you guys have a thing about Latinos coming across your borders so that never took off the way it should have). Africans are now all the rage, it doesn't seem to really matter which country (international consensus is that most Americans don't realize that Africa is not a country). The folks at my office have started a pool as to where you all will go next. I put fifty on India. Anyone want in?

74. "Loser"-LOL! TMZ you rock! I always tell the story about Mary-Louise when that loser is in a movie. I try to avoid his movies as much as possible, but sometimes he's in one and I didn't know. So many people have commented on how she's so great, I agree!
