Star Catcher
Mary Louise Parker's New Baby Girl

"Weeds" star Mary Louise Parker was snapped on Thursday holding the latest accessory to sweep Hollywood -- a Third World baby! Adorable!

The lovely duo were attached at the hip, as MLP chatted on her cell phone after taking the little one to a doctor in New York.

Mary Louise already has a 3-year-old son from a previous relationship with loser actor Billy Crudup.

106. The Truth, Madonna is married to Guy Ritchie. Has been for almost 10 years. But yeah I get what u are saying. I was beginning to think that Halle Barry was going to adopt a kid. I love Will and Jada and you can help the kids without adopting them. The do need clean running water. Did you know that for the price of a pack of cigs you can de worm 250 kids.

107. Has anyone thought that maybe international adoption feels "safe" to these celebrities? They don't have to worry about anyone tracking down their kid and demanding it back OR demanding loads of money. JMO Honestly, I don't think it wold hurt for them to adopt a special needs child but some countries only allow healthy children to be adopted. Let's face face it, Paris, Lindsay and Britney make you shy away from American kids. That Bai Ling chick scares you from Asian children all by herself. And with the immigration debate why would a celebritiy adopt a Mexican child?

I'm just question some posts I've read.

108. Wow. How TMZ of you, calling kids accessories. It seems that people would know that American children in foster homes are treated a tad bit better than children elsewhere. I said "just a tad."

109. Thanks Anna, I guess my loathing of Madonn's life choices may have blinded me to the facts. The rest of my comments remain true.

110. to my knowledge this is only the 3rd black African toddler adopted by a hollywood celeb in recent years that we know of....yet pple are going on about all 'these celebs' adopting black babies, i guess 1 more black orphan in hollywood is considered too much. Personally, i'm not pleased by MLP's choice becos i think she is doing it for publicity and not thinking of the child...everyone just assumes that now the child would have a better life, sure she would have a wealthier life but a better life is not guaranteed. The US may be much wealthier than these African Countries (Africa is a Continent with over 50 countries and not all these countries currently have civil wars going on, and they do have clean water (screw u J. Timberlake) and electricity, internet, big cities..normal modern life) but think of the crap she is going to be exposed to ignorance, RACISM, u name it. I don't man to be insulting but North Americans are truly some of the most ignorant people i have ever met in my life.

111. I think its a noble gesture to want to help a child, but why not one of the hundreds of kids right here in the good ole U.S.? It appears to be be the fad du jour in hollywood to adopt an impoverished child from any number of countries around the world....help the kids here who need a good home...

112. I agree with #1! Charity begins at home! Adopt children from the USA! Black or White it does not matter..........we have plenty of unwanted and lonely children in this country!

113. It's obvious that many here are not educated with regard to adoption. No one adopts to "save a baby." We adopt to become parents. Period. Adoption is not charity. It is a way to become a family. I support many charities in my community. I am the loving parent of a child who just so happens to be adopted. She is not a fad. She is not an accessory. She is a child. My child who I had to work very hard to adopt. It would be very nice if everyone who decided to become a parent had to go through the classes, interviews, etc. that we happily participated in before they are granted the joy of parenthood.

116. "Personally, i'm not pleased by MLP's choice becos i think she is doing it for publicity and not thinking of the child.."

I doubt she did it for publicity, because she's not the type who likes to appear on gossip sites and in the yellow-press. But of course, as soon as her spokeswoman has confirmed the adoption, the paparazzis were on the lookout. They know where she lives in NYC, so no big deal to get a pic of them.

117. Another child has a home - that is wonderful! I wish our country's foster care system wasn't such a trainwreck; perhaps more would adopt domestically. But what is most important is that a child has a home. It's obvious that most of the posters here have absolutely no clue what is entailed in an adoption.

118. I think it's great that every time this discussion is brought up that there are always so many people up in arms about adopting from other countries. Everyone who thinks more people should adopt from this country line up and submit your paperwork to adopt. Just think how many fewer children in this country would need a home, if everyone who spoke up for them actually did more than just talked about it. (mom to two adopted children--one from this country, and one from China)

119. How many of you have adopted children yourselves? YOu are all very judgmental, especially those who think we all should adopt american babies, I bet none of you have--children are children and where one is born has no relevance, they all deserve the love of a family. American children are not more important than other children.

And by the way it is not easy to adopt in america, especially in many states, if you took the time to research and learn you would know. Yes there are thousands of children in foster care, but many of them are not available for adoption, because parental rights have not been terminated.

I am sick of holier than thou people who love to judge but never do anything they criticize others of not doing.
Many children adopted from orphanages or institutions do have special needs and ones that may not be obvious to you, many suffer from RAD, PTSD, emotional problems, learning disabilites. You never know what celebrity parents may be dealing with behind closed doors.

Walk 100 miles in one of our shoes before you judge.

120. How dare you people who don't know anything about the families that adopt children from these countries say anything negative about them. Shame on you! We are adopting from China (and it sure ain't because it's "faster" as some other misinformed poster put it). The reason we are is because we want to add to our family but here in America, the birth parents have too many rights after "giving them up". I can't imagine having a child in our home and then have it ripped out after a few months or few years! It would be unbearable. Since China has The One Child Policy, which I do not agree with but can't do anything about, they give up most of their healthy girls, all of their "unhealthy" girls and most of their "unhealthy" boys. We will be adopting a little girl with a cleft lip/palate. Most of our friends that are waiting for their child from China will be waiting for over 2 years, so don't think that it is quick. Also most of the money spent for the adoption is to the numerous US govt departments, clearances, etc, some to an adoption agency and then a very small part to the Chinese govt and orphanage. Do your research before spouting off negative and erroneous information.
