Debbie Harry: From Blondie to Golden Girl

Sexagenarian Blondie singer Debbie Harry was assisted out of a vehicle in London on Thursday. The step is high!

Wearing cataract shades and a classic Mylar Chanel suit from Talbot's Geriatric Goth line, the 62-year-old punk pioneer proved she can still rock sexy, lacy support hose and Mary Jane orthopedic peep-toe pumps like nobody's grandmother!

"Once I had a love ... now I've got gas ... "

91. Deborah Harry is a pop icon that will go down as one of the greats.

92. HEY! Watch what you say about Blondie! She still rocks and she looks damn good for 62. Jerk.

93. Make fun all you want - do not forget, my friend, you too (God willing) will be 62 one day sooner than you think - and if you could make a patch of Deborah Harry's ass and look half as good as she does today you will have accomplished something.

The disrespect Americans have for the aging and mature is a disgrace, however karma is a wonderful thing - so when you are in your 60's and get slammed for not looking like a ripe young buck and scoffed at, hopefully you will have your wits about you still to remember this day well and understand just a little bit better.

At least you can tell Debbie Harry and the other sextagenarians apart from each other. Today's mass-produced cookie-cutter blonde Jennifer Aston haircut wannabes half plastic 20-30 somethings all look exactly the same - one cannot even tell them apart on the covers of the grocery store trash-magazine checkout line.

We are one of the only countries who look down on their elders, and that is a sin because they are the ones that bought you into the world, and built what you take for granted today. Deborah Harry is a gifted, talented woman - always was and always will be - and should be respected for that talent and youthful frame of mind.

Shame on you - may your children dump you in a nursing home in Mexico some day to lay in your own filth somewhere for being so crass and encouraging the mindset you are.

94. I wonder where that car was parked. Did it ever occur to anyone that it was a steep curb and she is petite? She may have needed help even if she was 22 and not 62.

TMZ gets readers by being malicious. The truth is irrelevant, so long as the butt of the joke looks like what they are saying is true.

She actually doesn't look bad at all. She looks concerned about the distance down. I wonder how the TMZ staff looks with their face down in each other's laps? I bet they don't look their best while concentrating on that.

96. Don't knock the older girls. They will rock circles around Britney and all those other so-called talents that are around today. After all, they are the originals. All you see these days are wannabees.

97. Tina Turner can still rock hard and kick ass. I 'd love to see any of these younger self-proclaimed stars keep up with her. That lady is so awesome!!!

98. At age 62, she's still a better singer than 90% of them out there having hits today. Her new CD is coming in October, and I have a pre-copy of it and it's fab! The single is Two Times Blue and it rocks. Debbie Harry has been a star for over 30 years. In thirty years, will anyone remember who Britney Spears was? I seriously doubt it. Without Debbie leading the way, there would be no Madonna, No Gwen and about a dozen or so other pretendresses to her glam throne. She is the queen of American Pop Music and Pop Culture. She is a leading gay rights supporter and has done countless benefits, including True Colors Tour for Gay Rights. She is a true heroine to the gay community. When ever there is a crisis or a benefit, she is always there! She is a Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame Legend and an Icon to so many people. Our society should not start dissing folks just because they age. I would pay my hard-earned money to see Debbie and Blondie anytime over the likes of Britney, Gwen, and other American Idol Wanna Be Stars. Show Debbie Harry some respect and some love. She certainly deserves it!

99. Let me see - - - hhhhhmm Debbie is all about the geriatric set LOL She may need a little help leaving her vehicle, but you have not addressed the teeny-bopper bimbo's that need that same help because the are spaced out or pissed out of their mind. The next time one of those little pigs go for mandatory drug or alcohol testing they should think about this so-called "senior" putting them to shame LOL

101. I saw Debbie and Blondie in Atlantic City a year or so ago and she still had the vocal chops. She did the "Rapture" rap and it was like "Can you believe this stuff?" And she closed with Roxy Music's "More Than This." I will give a million dollars to any one who has Blondie’s cover of "More Than This." Okay, definitely not a million dollars... maybe a beer.

105. So necessary to point out a natural part of life - aging. You must so proud that you can poke fun at a punk icon for - horror of horrors! - getting older. God help you when you become a senior citizen. Karma sucks when you're mean-spirited...
