76. What a class act. Love her work on "Designing Women" She had great comic timing. She said whatever was on her (little)mind. Loved her in "Grease". Her role on "Bewitced" was also funny. Do not remember her in "The Graduate". I will rent that movie. RIP and to add what another poster said. RIP to Brett Somers. She was so great on "Match Game". Funny thing about Brett is I did not know she was married to Jack Klugman. Who did not love watching "Quincy MD. And of course Jack was in "The Odd Couple". Tv use to be so innocent. Alice we will miss you. I know you will keep them laughing in HEAVEN!

78. RIP Alice, she was hilarious in designing women. I don't remember which role she played in B ewitched, now I'll have to watch some episodes.

RIP Bret - I loved her on Match Game

Too bad modern day entertainers can't learn from these fine people.

P.S. Comparing Alec Baldwin to Ms. Ghostely bleh Too bad someone had to stain this wonderful tribute with such trash.

80. Remember, as Aunt Esmerelda on "Bewitched," how she'd always mumble "Oh, dear" and nervously touch her cheek before she'd start to 'fade out' from the jitters?

Or as the hilarious auto-mechanics teacher in "Grease?" Ab Fab! Rest in peace, Alice

83. This woman was a fantastic actress. Esmerelda on "Bewitched" was one of the show's highlights, but it was Bernice Clifton on "Designing Women" that showed Ghostley's comedic genius. There were many episodes where my friends and I laughed until we cried, playing the scene over and over. Her rendition of a song called "Black Man" and her yelling "Don't mess with me Mandingo--I'll cut you!" are hysterical. Ms. Ghostley, you felt like a funny and sweet friend to many of us. Rest in peace, beautiful sister.

84. #76 - #84 --
Alice Pearce played Alice Kravitz, and was replaced by Sandra Gould when Alice died. Agnes Moorehead played Endora. All these ladies are gone now.

89. Alice Ghostley grew up in Henryetta, Oklahoma, also the town where football star, Troy Aikman, grew up. She attended the University of Oklahoma but dropped out early to pursue her career in New York. She won a Tony Award for "The Sign in Sidney Brusstein's Window".
From 1969 to 1972 she played the good witch and ditsy housekeeper Esmeralda on Bewiched. She played Bernice Clifton on Designing Women from 1987 to 1993. She earned an Emmy nomination in 1992. Her film credits include, "To Kill a Mockingbird", "The Graduate", "Gator" and "Grease". Her Broadway debut was in "Leonard Sillman's New Faces in 1953. She had a great singing voice and received critical acclaim singing "The Boston Beguine" which became her signature song. This info came from her Obit in today's Tulsa World newspaper.
In this day and age, isn't it wonderful to hear about an actress who had talent and class and never any notority? Bless her !!

90. Hey #73 - You must be arrogant (and bad father) Alec Baldwin himself, to bring up your name in this tribute to Alice Ghostley. What a jerk, you are !
