DMX's Dogs: Buried Bodies Had Serious Wounds

DMXTwo dogs found buried at a home belonging to rapper DMX had serious wounds, authorities investigating neglect allegations said Saturday.

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said one dog had serious bite wounds and another had trauma to its abdomen, but causes of death were not determined. A third dog was burned so badly an exam was inconclusive, reports the AP.

The investigation stems from an Aug. 24 raid of DMX's Phoenix home, when police were probing allegations of animal neglect. Police seized 12 live pit bulls, numerous weapons, and about a quarter-ounce of marijuana from the property.



"We have 12 dogs who were abused and three dogs buried in the yard," Arpaio said, "someone's going to have to pay."

DMX's lawyer, Murray Richman, said: "How do you attribute activities to a person who has not been there, when they have knowledge that other persons have been. Is it because of the celebrity nature?"

No charges have yet been filed against the 36-year-old rapper.

183. I just want to say that as a person from California, I have seen this same abuse being afflicted on these dogs from the Mexican culture. They all have plenty of these poor dogs tied up all over their yards until someone calls the humane society and has these poor animals removed from the premises. Too bad these animals end up being put down because they are considered "too dangerous to adopt out". I wish all of this could be stopped. These animals don't deserve the bad rap they get because of people like these who treat them unhumanely.

184. WHY have no charges been made against this idiot? This is also not his first offense with cruelty to animals. And the ridiculous notion from the lawyer that he wasn't there- why does he have the dogs if he's not home to take care of them? I hope they throw the book at this guy and that pressure is put on the authorities to do it like in Vick's case. Same thing is obviously going on here, too.

186. Everyone keeps bringing up the two white boys and turning this into a race issue. The two white boys weren't charged because the statute of limitations has passed. They can not legally be charged. So...stop pulling the race card.

187. It just truly scares me to realize people with everything they could want get their kicks out of abusing animals. Especially mammals that have so much physically in common with us and are as innocent as chuldren unless we force them to be otherwise.
IT IS TIME WE MADE MUCH WORSE PUNISHMENTS!!

192. Shame Shame: I would have plenty to say if I had heard about the boys from Arkansas. They are just as guilty as ANYONE who abuses animals and should get the same punishment. The color of the person doing the abusing and killing doesn't matter. However, blacks involved in using Pit Bulls for fighting occurs so frequently , even among the wealthy blacks, that it is everyday news.Why blacks prefer to take the angry comments about Vick and DMX personally, puzzles me. When a white person is accused of a crime, no matter WHO he is, white people react the same way we have over Vick and DMX. WHEN SOMEONE IS WRONG, THEY ARE WRONG. Color doesn't enter into it.

194. Perm: You are either very naive or or not too smart if you believe he didn't know anything about the neglect and possible use of these dogs for fighting. At least one neighbor reported seing him frequently when he claims he was out of town. Vick gave the same excuse in the beginning.

195. .............There are 193 post at present.........if everyone e-mailed all the public officials in you own state.........and Phenoix, Az..........tell them your opinion of dog fighting........raise enough awarenss..............to do what ever they can to stop dog fighting..........that all of America is watching to see what they do...........maybe we could get a few, to work toward the stopping of this horrendous activity............and DMX and Vick............public outcry can make a difference sometimes................I have e-mailed every one in Pheonix, Az...........you can find gov. lists easily enough............please e-mail someone and tell them to help stop dog fighting............and DMX.....if they are not into rap music..........they won't know who,or what DMX is.............just raise their awareness.............
