34. To Ruth: I saw twice - in Montreal, and in Toronto. I snuck around backstage in hopes on thanking him personally, and indeed I get to have a moment with him. He was a humble, quiet, self-effacing man totally devoid of ego or hauteur. I was as impressed by his gentle humility as I was by his talent - and his courage in the face of unfathomable danger.
If only more could be like him.

36. I was lucky enough to see him twice in two days.
The first was to a convocation of middle-schoolers, who made smart-alec comments on the bus to the show (hum ... sounded a lot like some of the posters here!).
Once there though, they were spell-bound and even the naughtiest of kids talked about him for days.

39. I am sorry he is dead and condolences to his family, but...I hate mimes. They scare the ever -loving spit out of me, and the only thing I hate more are clowns.
Oh, and those velvet pictures of crying children with the big eyes. My mom had one when I was little and I thought it was possessed. But I was weird that way.
