91. I agree that black people need to get over it already. The race card is pulled everytime something doesn't go their way. You say "walk a mile in our shoes"??? Walk a mile in ours (non-black). When bad things happen to us we just have to chalk it up to bad luck since we don't have our race to blame it on. I am certainly NOT saying racisim doesn't exist, it most certianly does. It exists from every ethnic group again some other ethnic group. You want to be equal? Stop having your "special" days to celebrate "your people". Is there a white history month? Is there a predominately white university celebrated for being so? Is there an all-white company proudly stating that they are so? NO! Because that is racist. Yet look at the minority groups proudly proclaiming the same. If you would be offended by another group (minority or not) having the same special groups/functions then you should not have one either. I do happen to believe we are all equal by the way, we just need to start acting like it.

96. Look I was under the impression that Black History Month was a celebration of the achievements that many educated and determined african americans bestowed upon our generations and others. I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with Racism or Slavery, they are only a bye product of the situations that people were in durign that time.

That said, I think all of the race card folks should do some reasearch before they start preaching about things they have no clue about. Slavery has been around forever, and all races have been persecuted to some extent. The African Slave market sold their own people to the Europeans, how jacked up is that!

97. CIVIL WAR --- The Civil War began because the South was unhappy with the results of the Presidential election. Abraham Lincoln's intial draft of the 13th amendment would have prohibited growth of slavery outside of the states in which it already existed. It would NOT have freed any slaves. If you were already a slave state, you could remain a slave state. The South was afraid of losing their main source of income, which was dependent on slave labor, so they succeeded from the union. (Interesting note... As the entire state of Alabama succeeded from the Union, Winston County, Alabama did not. If you travel through that county, you can still see signs reading, "The Free State of Winston County.")

The Civil War did not begin in order to free the slaves. It began for the same reason most wars began - financial. Lincoln himself declared that if he could win the war without freeing the slaves, he would have done so.

99. to the person wondering why there are more whites on the covers of magazines and more whites in movies, etc. Have you ever wondered why in say a country like india there are more indians on the covers of magazines over there or in movies more so than any other race? Are they being racist for putting more indians on their magazines/tv/movies? It's because they are the majority in the country. In the USA the white population is what is the majority so that is what tv/movies/magazines reflect. To ask why a magazine has more white people on it is ridiculous, why not see more puerto ricans or native american indians? It's because whites make up the biggest percentage of the population in the united states. Would you go see movie if every movie all the actors were Indian? I doubt it. Fortunately USA is becoming more and more integrated as the gene pool continues to mix with other races...soon we will be one people one nation and not several people several nations.

You don't have to be black to be persecuted and many people had horrible childhoods that lead to the worst of lives. STOP MILKING US BECAUSE YOU'RE BLACK .. 102. And this is why there will always be a seperation between races. Ignorant white people not understanding minority struggles since they have technically become 'equal' since 1960s..An hey, let's not take into consideration that minorities were not able to advance themselves financially by enslaving or limiting other races....yeah it happened in the past, but those actions in the past have affected the present state of our country. Not saying that reparations should be handed out, but these events and issues should not be swept under the rug either.
