Clooney in the Clear!

George ClooneyWeehawken PD has issued the following statement to TMZ about George Clooney's motorcycle accident:

"On Friday, Sept. 21, 2007 at approximately 3:30 PM, Weehawken police and the Weehawken Volunteer First Aid Squad responded to a 911 call of a motorcycle accident with possible injuries at the corner of King Avenue and Boulevard East.

Investigation at the scene determined that a 1999 Mazda Millenium operated Mr. Albert Sciancalepore II of Weehawken, NJ made contact with a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Mr. George Clooney of Los Angeles, California, was accompanied by Ms. Sarah Larson of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mr. Clooney and Ms. Larson were subsequently taken to Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen for examination and treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Both were apparently wearing motorcycle helmets at the time of the accident. The car was driven from the scene by its operator, and the motorcycle was (taken) from the scene by a representative of Mr. Clooney. Due to conflicting statements of driver and the lack of evidence to support either driver's version, no moving violation summonses have been issued to either party at this time. The incident remains under investigation."

16. Where exactly does any of the information in this "mostly a re-post" article give any information on George Clooney being cleared. Simply saying that the car made contact with the motorcylce, does not indicate that the car that the car failed to signal or that it was at fault. The headline is misleading..

I hope George is in the clear...he seems to me to be a good human being...and gorgeous to look at...

17. I am just not into George. I don't get the attraction. He's just a guy. I've seen better looking heads on beer.

18. SO what if George is good looking, hot or a celeb who is trying to do good in the world..if he committed a traffic violation he should get punished like the rest of us...lets not assume because of who he is that he should get off

19. I hope George recovers from his mid-life crisis soon because he's beginning to make a fool of himself.

23. Gee, let's see. George is in a motorcycle accident. No charges. No real injuries.
Whoa, George has a new movie coming out in a few weeks, right? Ah, ok, really good PR firm. Come on, folks. Do the math. They do it all the time. Or have we forgotten The Hoff's Cheeseburger tape release 3 weeks before "America Has Questionable Talent"?

24. My goodness, arent there some sick people around. Gorge and his very pleasant, normal looking girlfriend have just had a very scary accident which could have been worse for all concerned (some people in this country dont even wear headgear on bikes, CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!), and all some people can do is be rude and quite hurtful about it.

Obviously nothing better to do. Try getting out a bit more yourselves and yes incidently I have a life but felt compelled to comment on this one.

25. George George George George George George George!

Leave the motorcycling to Matthew, Tommy Lee, Heath, Keanu, Dave, Arnold (well not so much Arnold), Tyson Beckford, Jay Leno and the Pitts!

You are too beautiful (and too old) to risk everything.

Use a car; better yet, get a driver!

27. I feel that TMZ should be a lot more careful when submitting articles like "Clooney in the clear". I've been following the story for the last couple days and all the information given in TMZ's "breaking news" isn't breaking news at all. They've just reported what everyone else has been saying for two days now!

30. Why do half the people penning "news" on the net believe that by adding an exclamation point (or 2 or 3) to a headline makes it more interesting? It simply shows that you have nothing of true value to post. "Now on tv?'... Another good reason to go for a bike ride. BTW, that's really a cheap pix to post of a decent actor involved in a 'routine' bike vs auto incident.
Are you folks owned by E! ?
