It still amazes me the level of ignorance about this disorder (I guess I can thank daytime talk) This is not cross dressing or a hobby. She had a medical disorder. She was not born a man. She was a baby born with the wrong genitals. My sister was born the same way. I knew "he" was different from 3 years old. The person who wrote "changing sex parts doesn't make you a woman" was right but not the way they think. The genitals are only part of what makes you a woman (Important Of Course). Brain function, hormones, and other factors all play big roles. Do you think men and women think so differently simply from having different genitals? Male brains and female brains look differently and work differently. So do the brains of many people with this disorder. I'm grateful that my genitals match my female gender; but I hope if they didn't I could correct a physical dysfunction and not have to live up to an identification that was given to me in the labor room (as a new born) based on the assumption that genitals are always right.

If I was born blind and given the opportunity to see; not many would tell me that God created me blind so deal with it. Or that I'm a "post surgical blind person" because the new eyes may not function 100 percent normally. What about being born with 6 toes on a foot? Once removed should I be always known as the six toed girl. I hope SHE has a happy life with genitals that match her brain, personality and sprit. Further, I hope she finds a man who cares more about her than her baby pictures.
