Larry Birkhead has responded to Debra Opri's defamation suit.
Opri claims, among other things, that Birkhead slandered her on "Larry King Live," where he said Opri leaked confidential documents to Rita Cosby in his paternity case.
This morning, Birkhead's lawyer, Michael Trope told TMZ, "The defense that we will file in this case will be simple. Truth is a defense."

Superior Court, charging her former client with defamation, breach of contract and fraud. Opri claims that after she terminated "our legal relationship, [Birkhead] began a malicious and relentless media campaign to ... destroy my reputation." She says she'll donate proceeds from the suit to the Center for Missing and Exploited Children. 97. When Larry chose Opri, thinking that swimming with sharks would bring him fame and fortune, he found himself bitten by sharks and thrown overboard into a pig pen.
98. Opri's current 'lawsuit' is just a newer version of her 'response' to LB's lawsuit against her for fraud, malpractice and conversion of funds.
LB laid out in detail how Cosby and Opri cooperated to snag him as a Client for their planned mutual and substantial benefit. Opri's response to his lawsuit was deemed 'weak' by the Judge hearing motions, and he bound Opri over for trial by Jury instead of private arbitration.
This new lawsuit merely claims LB said on LKL what he wrote in his lawsuit. It's nothing new and most likely will be combined with LB's case and not heard separately. Opri will have to sell this to a Jury.
This lawsuit is a publicity stunt by Opri to attempt to get back in the Celebrity-Attorney game by appearing strong, nothing more.
