Celebrity Justice
Kiefer: Once, Twice, Three, Four Times a Busted!

Kiefer Sutherland"24" star Kiefer Sutherland's DUI arrest last night isn't his first brush with the law. Or his second. Or even his third.

Kiefer plead guilty in 1989 and 1993 to reckless driving charges, and in 2004 to driving with a blood alcohol level above .08 -- the legal limit in California. It's the 2004 case for which Sutherland is currently on probation.

But things could have been a lot worse for Kiefer. The 1989 case had two gun charges tacked on -- carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle and carrying a loaded firearm in a public place -- both of which were dismissed. The 1989 and 1993 cases both had DUI charges as well, and both were dismissed.

Kiefer got three years probation for both of those cases, the second of which fell just after the probation was up for the first. Time was on his side in that one.

61. Sure seems like a rash of celebrities going nuts these days. Well, take him off the big screen and he is just like anyone else..."4" DUI's!? Sounds like some jail time to me. I just don't understand why they don't have a driver...If I had that kind of money I would pay someone to be with me and drive me while I partied on! I sure would have hated to be him the next morning...lol

63. If you can't afford a taxi or chauffeur you are need another job because evidently the acting career is not paying off. If you do have a great career and money then get a ride STUPID....it's just not worth it

64. Where were all of Kiefer's friends that nite ?...All the groupies and hangers on ? You would think that at least one of the "friends" would have seen and made sure that he wasn't able to drive. I have heard of no one trying to stop him or offering a ride home or calling a cab. Sometimes you find out who your real *friends are*. And NO it isn't all the friends fault. However, when you are drinking, you tend to think you are ok to drive. Keep your chin up Kiefer!

66. DUI's is not the measure of a person, the system tries to make this the case. However, it is not. It is the case, most people that drink, drive. Some get caught and some don't. Those that don't are just as guilty as those that do get caught. This includes, politicians, police officers, judges, attorneys and those that carry large titles in our society who drink on a regular basis. I have been a bartender and used to feed a few massive amounts of alcohol to some of these high profile people jump in their cars and drive off at their own discretion, even after advised not to drive. Keifer has made his own mistakes. He will pay for them and move on with his life. If he has a personal issue with addictionand/or abuse, he will make corrections and improve his quality of life in time.

67. Breaking the law over and over again. If it were me, I'd spend time in jail over and over again. But, it's a t.v. star known for bad behaviour, so let's tell him no no and give him another million dollars in endorsements, and worship his star status.

what the hell is wrong with this country. does he have to kill someone in a drunk driving accident? coming up next.....

68. Now wait a minute. Are we really going to get on the case of a guy who has, for the most part, saved America (and the rest of the free world, for that matter), just for having a drink and driving with a loaded gun in the car. Come on, people. Lighten up!

69. Kiefer will *man up*!
And, its Rocco, not Rocko!
And Kiefer's father would never stoop to posting things about his son!

70. I love Kiefer Sutherland, however, I am about sick and tired of these people who have MORE THAN enough money to have their own limo and driver, let alone money for a cab and yet they are too cheap (obviously) and too selfish, to care about the fact that they could hurt another person. If he wants to kill himself, let him! But how dare he put me and my family at risk!!!

71. I agree that Mr Sutherland should go to jail, he hasn't learnt from previous experience and drink driving is a serious offence, however, let's give the poor guy a bit of credit for starting his jail sentence ON HIS BIRTHDAY and being there over Christmas and the New Year. The second part of his sentence is not intended to be cushy but to ensure that his colleagues lives are not disrupted by his stupidity. I agree with other people who have said why didn't he hire a driver. It is almost beyond belief that he didn't.I also agree with people who said where were his friends, they should have stopped him driving. Mr Sutherland will never attach the slightest blame to anyone else though because he is that kind of man. I would say to him keep your chin up, do this thing, try not to be scared, let people help you through it and put it behind you. You are capable of earning respect, you are capable of making people proud of you. Don't waste the rest of your life. The best of luck my dear.
