Kiefer Sutherland Popped for DUI

Jack Bauer isn't untouchable after all.

TMZ has learned that "24" star Kiefer Sutherland was busted on suspicion of DUI in West Hollywood last night, after allegedly blowing more than twice the legal limit of .08. This is the actor's second DUI in the past five years -- he was arrested in 2004. By California law, if he's convicted, he must serve a mandatory minimum of five days in jail.

Police sources tell TMZ 40-year-old Sutherland was pulled over around 1:35 AM PST on the corner of La Cienega and Beverly. Sutherland was at the FOX Fall Eco-Casino party at Area nightclub earlier that evening. The photo in this story was taken at the event.



Sutherland, who was stopped after making an illegal U-turn, was arrested for misdemeanor DUI and transported to the Hollywood Police station. He was booked at 4:09 AM and released at 5:42 AM on $25,000 bail.

We're told Sutherland was "cooperative and mellow" while he was in custody.

According to the L.A. Sheriff's Dept. website, the actor is 5'10" and weighs 150 lbs.

Sutherland is scheduled to face a judge on October 16.

A rep for Sutherland told TMZ "It would be premature to comment at this time."

76. What is it with these Hollywood ding dongs? Do they think they can just go about doing whatever and get away with it? I personnally am sick of all of the stupid news on these fools. They do nothing for our society except make spectacles out of themselves, hurt their families and make bad news for our children. Do they not understand we need a hero for our children to maybe look up to for a change. Not only on camera but, also off. 77. If there is a shortage of competent drivers for these big Hollywood types, I'd like to apply for the job. Why do these people not have drivers, especially if attending a party or if there's even an inkling that you'd be consuming adult beverages? Maybe they don't have taxis in LA-LA land.

Poor Kiefer...I'm sure those awful evil Arab terrorists his TV program vilifies are responsible!

81. "suspicion of DUI"- read carefully. he may or may not have been drinking. either way, these days you can't even have one beer without a cop pulling you over. "legally drunk" and "drunk" are two different things. EVERYONE has driven after they drink, even if its just 2 beers, dont lie to yourselves. would you consider yourself drunk? most likely not. if he was really drunk, then he should be held accountable for his actions though

83. I worry about Kiefer being self destructive. Especially with a father who has never been there for you. I know what that is like. I'm a big fan of Kiefer but not of his father, not anymore. Come on, Kiefer, don't kill yourself.

85. Please people!!! Get a grip!!!
It aws a U-turn! He did not drive onto a pole, or hit a car...you can make an illegal U-turn any day of the week, drunk or not. Knowing Kiefer, he likes to party every now and then. But since it was 1:35 am I'm almost positive he had 3 beers on him, and it was just rotten luck he got pulled over for that U-turn. For a guy that likes to party and drink, being this his SECOND DUI I think he´s just alright. He knows how to take care of himslef...and I know that whenever he´s really drunk, he does not drive. So this was just rotten luck. And, if he gets convicted, he WILL serve those 5 days in jail. GET OVER IT!!!!

86. What is the deal, these people all have enough money to have driver's. Just another example of how they (celebs) think they are above the law..........they need to be made examples of since our kids watch all of this..........
