Kiefer Sutherland Popped for DUI

Jack Bauer isn't untouchable after all.

TMZ has learned that "24" star Kiefer Sutherland was busted on suspicion of DUI in West Hollywood last night, after allegedly blowing more than twice the legal limit of .08. This is the actor's second DUI in the past five years -- he was arrested in 2004. By California law, if he's convicted, he must serve a mandatory minimum of five days in jail.

Police sources tell TMZ 40-year-old Sutherland was pulled over around 1:35 AM PST on the corner of La Cienega and Beverly. Sutherland was at the FOX Fall Eco-Casino party at Area nightclub earlier that evening. The photo in this story was taken at the event.

Sutherland, who was stopped after making an illegal U-turn, was arrested for misdemeanor DUI and transported to the Hollywood Police station. He was booked at 4:09 AM and released at 5:42 AM on $25,000 bail.

We're told Sutherland was "cooperative and mellow" while he was in custody.

According to the L.A. Sheriff's Dept. website, the actor is 5'10" and weighs 150 lbs.

Sutherland is scheduled to face a judge on October 16.

A rep for Sutherland told TMZ "It would be premature to comment at this time."

91. #69- NO not everyone has driven after they drink. I have never done that in my life, and will never do it. Keep trying to rationalize driving drunk in your mind though, whatever makes you sleep at night. One day you will be caught though.

94. When a person has gone through an accident that was caused by driver under the influence or intoxicated, they have a totally different perspective on the situation. What right does a person have taking a loaded gun and blasing someones head off? That is what a dui/dwi driver does. He loads the gun (him/her self with alcohol, takes aim no matter how blurry or out of focus it may be (get behind the wheel of a vehicle) and pulls the trigger (drives). And more often than not, the victim comes out worse of than the person who actually commits the crime does. What a shame law-abiding citizens have less rights and recourse than the offender. I know, I am a victim. Hopefully Keiffer Sutherland will read this and think before he drinks and drives again.

96. keifer is one of the biggest drunks in town. every time i see him out, he's totally wasted. apparently he makes no apologies for his alcoholism though. it's fine if he destroys his own liver, but not fine if he kills some innocent person in his car. dumbass.

99. Just because you get a DUI doesnt mean you are a drunk or an alcoholic. Everyone goes out and has a coctail. The problem is that nothing is "legal" to drive. Everyone is under the impression that if you only have one or two drinks its ok but if you get pulled over and have had anything to drink you will be arrested for DUI.

100. Sounds like the Hollywood Elite are no longer getting away with the indiscrections they have been getting away with for eons. Great! I think Hollywood would be no more if the Drugs and Booze weren't there to block reality from them...

102. The most sickening part is that these celebs., even after a conviction, will still be hired for the next big movie or TV series (or just sit on their millions) but your average Joe with a similar record, would struggle to get a job flipping burgers as a result of the conviction. And didn't this guy to community service years ago, back when he was dating Julia Roberts??? What was it he was done for?

103. Oh please 2 times in 5 years, come on people. Lets face it there are people out there normal everyday Joe or Jill and your Brittneys and Lindsays that do it everyday, and get caught and get no time at all and some of them and we know who they are do it just for the attention. Keifer made a mistake, he does not make it a habit leave him alone. Focus on the ones who just want the attention or are putting their kids and ours at risk

104. I guessing the bail is high because this is not his first DUI. Drunk driving is a criminal act and criminals shouldn't do the crime if they can't do the time. Corny but true.

If you’ve ever lost anyone to drunken idiot you would understand why this is no joke. Even Kiefer has admitted he has a huge drinking problem. Now he needs help before he kills someone.
