Sick Vick: More Charges Today?

46. It's about time the State of Va. file charges against Vick, since the other case is Federal.
My greatest hope out of all of this is that people step up and out against this horrific crime against the animals and to put the spotlight the people exploiting the APBT breed and not the breed itself!!

Let me ask all of you a Q; if you were forced into a pit ring woud you not fight back to defend yourself from being killed outright?? Why would you think these dogs would not do the same in defense?

Send a strong message to all of these gamers and punks who exploit this breed for their own perverse pleasure and profit, not to mention the cruel fate these dogs must endure, that this is unacceptable!!! Put them behind bars for years, for every life they expended.

I'm tired of my breed getting the bad rap and punishment due to irresponsible ownership and exploitation of this breeds capabilities when FORCED upon them.

Also if you've never owned the breed, you cannot make an honest judgement as to it's amazingly sweet nature when raised and socialized in a healthy environment, and that goes across the board for any breed. Take a look at Youtube once and look at some of these videos of the shameful conditions some of these animals are found and tell me its the dog fault!! Let's put the blame on the real animals here, MANKIND!!!

48. #6 - I'm with you sista! I don't think it's a racial thing - it's a cruelty to animals thing! May he suffer a long and miserable life in jail! It's up to us to speak in defense for those poor innocent dogs he mistreated and killed. Animals are God's creatures. If a person doesn't respect animals, they certainly don't respect humans. It is very embarrassing and shameful to have him as part of the human race - black or white!

49. _When the story first broke, I immediately thought, "the same thing should be done to him as was done to those dogs", but I have had time to think about it since....and I do think that is way too harsh....I have been following the comments for days now, and I had just thought to myself.....it is a wonder the way everyone is talking, that no one has said 'let's kill Vick".
Sure enough...#9 by Suzy made that arguement loud and clear...Everyone get a grip and calm down....As bad as this is...and I do think it is bad......There are other crimes where I would like to see law enforcement focus on, such as hate crimes, crimes against women, and children, etc...We have to deal with this when it comes up, and I do mean appropriately. I don't believe anyone likes to see this done to helpless animals, but let's save our emotions and passion for the even more henious crimes......

54. Nothing has changed in the US. Racism, discrimination and intolerance is still alive and well. How many caucasians are prosecuted for animal cruelty? There is a grave injustice in Jena, and none of these so-called animal lover or human rights organization seem to care about the disintegration of black human life in this country. I guess a dogs life is worth so much more than a black human being's life.

55. WHATEVA - in my opinion, hunting is a completely different game than what Vick and his clan did. I know alot of hunters, and deer or duck are not tortured for months on end. Usually the deer or duck is instantly killed, not suffering or tortured the way these dogs were. You can't compare the two. Vick had a sick game going on for years. That's what makes it so sick. It was slow torture.

56. and also to the person that said something about the Jena 6. If I was the Judge they would all be in jail for the crime of battery! I teach my kids that 2 wrongs don't make a right. If someone calls you a name, hangs a noose or something like that, it doens't give someone the right to beat someone silly. Quit crying racism! We're all American citizens and we have the right to stand up and make a change.
Teach your kids to turn the other cheek!

Also the white kids should be arrested for a hate crime.

Racism (blacks & whites) will always exist in this Country it will never go away. Look at your homeland and now tell me your not better off being in this Country.

57. Oh please. He needs to do time. I learned in law school about numerous criminals and one thing we always read, was that killers usually start off small when they're young. Such as Jeffery Dahmer use to keep dead animals or he would kill them and then keep them out back. Bundy and many others were they same even as they grew older.

My point is, if someone is capable of seeing such a thing or doing the dog fighting / killing themselves, then what else do they have the mind to do?

Yes he was wrong, yes it was horrible, no I don't agree with what he did, but you want to kill him?, let him spend 20 years in prison? FOR KILLLING DOGS!
