Kiss-Off Kate

It was 80 degrees and muggy in Manhattan yesterday, but it sure was freezing over at "The Late Show with David Letterman" -- and we don't mean the infamously cold Ed Sullivan Theater.

First, Kevin Smith showed up in his trademark floor-length coat-cape, and obligingly posed with fans and signed autographs.

That was just a little more than "Private Practice" star Kate Walsh could manage, as she gave but a passing glance at photogs and sped past a screaming crowd of admirers without so much as a smile -- inducing a big groan from the hoard. Nurse!

We're told that Kate was early for her spot on the show, and had plenty of time to sign. When she left, she did pose for a few pics ... and her rep tells us that she signed autographs as well!

36. I guess when you're married to the president of 20th Century Fox, you get your own show and you don't have to worry so much about being nice to fans. I kept wondering how she got her own show...then I heard on Letterman she just married the pres of 20th Century Fox.

40. DON'T BE SO FICKLE! Like #10 said, maybe she was having a bad day? Maybe she wasn't feeling well, got bad news in the car, you never know what's going on in a person's life. Walk a mile in her shoes, people. Those of you "boycotting" the show or writing her off because ONE TIME she didn't stop are being incredibly childish.

43. i am so sick of these no name people getting thinking that they are important. i had never heard of her before grey's and i do not plan on watching her new show starring a bunch of other rejects and has been's. there are no stars left in hollywood any more.
