The judge in the Phil Spector murder trial has declared a mistrial, as jurors announced they were hopelessly deadlocked.
In the courtroom today, the jury foreperson told the judge that they were deadlocked 10 - 2 -- with 10 jurors voting for a guilty verdict.
Prosecutors charged Spector with the murder of actress Lana Clarkson nearly five years ago. Spector's attorneys had argued Clarkson committed suicide.
A spokeswoman for the District Attorney told the LA Times "We will try Phil Spector again" and said her office was disappointed with the outcome of the trial
All parties will be back in court on October 3rd.

Shame on this jury. Were they paid off or just the dumbest people (at least 2 of them) on the face of the earth.

I don't think he did it. i think she realized there was no trick she could turn that would change her desperate life, and challenged him to make things happen for her or she would cause a stink. he said no, get out, and she turned the gun on herself. She was that desperate. When you go to Phil spector's 'cASTLE' IN alhambra at midnight feeling entitled to better screen roles because you work as a hostess at a club, you are desperate. if he shot her it was agame and death by misadventure, but not murder. Spector didn't murder someone to go the OJ trial route for publicity.

You folks amaze me all the time. The vote was 10 - 2 but doesn't say which way. You automatically assume it was 10 guilty and 2 not guilty. No ands ifs or buts. However, murder and manslaughter are different types of killing and manslaughter was not even a consideration in this case.
he was not aquitted nor did he "get off". it is a mistrail, he can be re-tried by another jury.
