Spector Mistrial!

Phil SpectorThe judge in the Phil Spector murder trial has declared a mistrial, as jurors announced they were hopelessly deadlocked.

In the courtroom today, the jury foreperson told the judge that they were deadlocked 10 - 2 -- with 10 jurors voting for a guilty verdict.

Prosecutors charged Spector with the murder of actress Lana Clarkson nearly five years ago. Spector's attorneys had argued Clarkson committed suicide.

A spokeswoman for the District Attorney told the LA Times "We will try Phil Spector again" and said her office was disappointed with the outcome of the trial

All parties will be back in court on October 3rd.

32. The vote was 10-2 for Guilty. Once again proving that in America, if you have enough money you can beat a murder rap. " Equal Justice For All ", is complete BS.

34. These jurors have wasted 6 months of their own lives, tortured the Clarkson family, sat and listened while the victim was trashed over and over again, listened to high paid witnesses lie just to do it all over again with a second trial? Look at the money, the people of California's money, that they have wasted .............they should be locked up. What idiots. I hope they were paid off, if not these jurors are too stupid to be on their own. A change of venue is needed, try the case in Texas this time.

43. From now on no more celebrity trials by jury in LA..Change the venue to Sacramento or somewhere far removed from the glitter of Hollywood. Enough is enough!

44. Exactly as I predicted. Phil Spector is a rich celebrity living in L.A., and the trial was in L.A. I said from the beginning that he was going to walk because of his celebrity and his money. You could see this coming from a mile away. Celebrities will never be held accountable for their actions, this is just one more case in a very, very long line. Celebrities are issued "Get Out Of Jail Free Cards" as soon as they become even slightly famous. Spector is as guilty as he can be, but hey, he's a celebrity.........I'm not even remotely surprised at this outcome.
