Vick Tests Positive for Pot; Ordered to Stay Home

The Atlanta Journal Constitution has obtained court documents that indicate Michael Vick tested positive for marijuana on September 13, and will now face more strict release conditions from a federal court judge.

In court documents filed today, the judge ordered Vick to submit to any method of testing, "for determining whether the defendant is using a prohibited substance." The judge also ordered Vick to stay in his Virginia home -- with electronic monitoring -- every day from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. And he has to pay for the service! No Hyde for him!

In addition, Vick has been ordered to attend a substance therapy program and get mental health counseling. Vick will be sentenced on December 10, after entering a plea agreement in federal court on charges related to dogfighting. He faces up to five years in prison.

46. Michael Vick is a loser. Anyone who kills dogs with their bare handsand promotes dog fighting is a loser. All of the people on herethat support him and his actions are also losers. It amazes me that people would support him, and not care about the dogs that he tortured and/or murdered. He was a good quarterback and many people admired him; many kids looked up to him. He has lost that, for the most part anyhow. People are passionate about animal rights because animals can't speak for themselves. Doesn't that put what he's done into perspective? He tortured and murdered dogs for sport. DISGUSTING LOSER!

47. I am incredulous about how blood thirsty people can be, real criminals whose offenses are more heinous than dogs and smoking pot, are not persecuted in this fashion. The African American people arre very forgiving. Marion Barry, wilson goode, OJ, to some degree, and Michael Vick in time. Stop judging and punishing him as if you are perfect. talk about some of your own mistakes, rather perpetual finger pointing.

51. I never said I supported Vick or condone his actions what my point is that our press keeps reporting on this over and over and over again. Just punish the man and move on. And yes I think it is nuts to call for the death penalty for the man. He should do some jail time, pay his fine and perhaps volunteer to speak to kids about NOT participating in dog fighting. If you honestly think death is the answer, you are the nut job, not me.

55. legalize drugs! -- the war on drugs is a means of lining the pockets of politicians & bureaucrats -- look at afghanistan, where drugs weren't a problem till bush decided to make it the opium-producing capital of the world -- right now afghanistan's crop translates into 92% of the world's heroin -- bush didn't get caught when he was vick's age & now he's our glorified president

57. This is for the "person" who posted on #13.

For your information, we are not "animal rights people"- we are animal rescuers. Since animals cannot speak or take care of themselves, like people can, somebody has to speak and act on their behalf. If there weren't so many stupid people in the world abusing animals and deciding that they are dispensable, there wouldn't be a need for those of us who rescue.

I challenge you, or anyone else who cares about animals in any way, to spend one week working with an animal rescue group in your area. You would be horrified at how many animals are abused, neglected, and surrendered for reasons that all have to do with their owners. These people, of course, surrender these animals (or better yet, some dump them out in the country or other public area to fend for themselves) and then get another one, and still don't solve the initial problem, which usually has to do with the owner. Is the dog not behaving? Probably didn't take it to obedience training. Is the dog destructive? Probably is a breed that is more active than the owner can handle, and since they are not being properly exercised (mentally or physically) destructiveness is a way to entertain itself. Did the dog grow too big? Maybe you should have researched the breed to see what the size will be when it is full grown. There is so much going on in this word, and when you see up close and personal who cruel and awful people are to animals that are just there ot love their owners unconditionally, it sickens you. It makes you care more about animals than people, when you see how awful some people can be.

Vick should be punished for what he did. Not only was it illegal, it was cruel and the animals suffered. He was not put on this earth to use animals for entertainment or sport, and the dogs did not have a choice in whether or not they wanted to fight. I am sure they would have chosen a different fate than what they were given. And then, on top of that, to break the law yet again, simply shows that Vick is someone in desperate need of help. I hope he can get it, and learn from ALL of his mistakes. Otherwise, there will be a special seat in hell saved for him.
